I told Ashley to leave. She wanted to come in anyway but I wouldn't give her your room number. She wasn't the reason they were there but had she come in they would've noticed her. And you.

I fired her later that day because instead of being appreciative on the fact I kept her out of the spotlight, she complained about wasting gas to drive over there for nothing. So not worth keeping around after that in my opinion.

With no information other than the names alone I can guarantee you that it would be a tremendous waste of both your time and money.

[/QUOTE]Haven't tried them, but it's not like these things are hard to evaluate:

1) Sign up with a throw-away email address. Either a web email service, or if you're lucky enough that your ISP lets you use extended addresses, one of those. The rip offs will spam the address; the legit services will let you change it later.

2) If they ask for a credit card number for a "free trial", skip them. You'll almost certainly get charged for a subscription, and have trouble getting them to stop.

3) Watch out for salt in the database. Register a second time from some place far away, and run the same searches (except for the location difference). If you see the a lot of the same faces, forget them.

4) If it's impossible to hook up with somebody with the free service, skip them. The ones that are really legit will offer extra services for cash, but the free service will be useful by itself.

5) If you start getting "pokes" or whatever from random people that you can't talk to without spending money, don't spend the money. See #4 again!

From your description, they both violate #4, so they're probably ripoffs. If you're really interested, at least do the salt check (#3) before giving them any cash.

That said. I've had better luck on the general interest sites than the dating-specific sites. The general interest sites will have sections for looking for hookups, but offer them as a service to their members rather than as the mainstay off their business, so they 1) don't cost any extra and 2) are pretty much always legit.

Use cash of coarse to buy the phone and cards. Get the yearly card for around $100 so mins don't expire. You can also buy a double min card so whenever you add time you get twice the time you add mins. If you go this route add this first then the yearly card. Never had to buy more than the yearly card so far. Cost about $8 a month with 40 for each month after phone purchase.

It is also a good idea to write down the info on the sticker near the battery. That way you can stop the service if it gets stolen and transfer the mins to a new phone if you want to do so.
