ORLANDO. Deputies in Orange County are searching for two gunmen who robbed a man in a motel parking lot early Friday morning.

It happened around 1 am At the Best Western located at 8750 E. Colonial Drive.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office said the victim came to the motel to meet the woman after the two met online and arranged a meeting at the motel. Deputies said he pulled into the motel and drove to the back parking lot to meet her. She was in the parking lot and waved him down.

The Sheriff's Office said the man pulled over, got out of the car and then two masked men carrying guns walked up and robbed him. Investigators said the men then beat the victim and ran away.

The man was taken to Winter Park Hospital with minor injuries.

Detectives are trying to figure out if the man was set up.

The economy of Hawaii is largely dependent on Japanese tourism. Many Japanese men come to Hawaii to see prostitutes. I have seen police there protect prostitutes from harassment. I have seen them tell prostitutes to go home and put on different clothes. As long as the girls do not create a public relations problem they are allowed to do business. If prostitution were to be shutdown, it would have a significant economic impact.

As for cops needing to have sex with prostitutes it is all part of playing the game and going through the motions.

Just my take on it, there is no love lost with the "rescue" of a 14 year old "victim." I would hope whoever was managing her spends a lot of time away.

I did feel sorry for the young kid with glasses. He will probably be scarred for life with that experience. A couple of the others had that "not again" look on their faces. Drawn guns? Bullet proof vests? Really? Why doesn't this make me feel safe?

Just my cynical two dents worth.
