Not going to sugar coat it, it can be dangerous cruising Fig, Western and LBB even. Specially if a monger does not know how to act.
With that said though I have cruised Fig, Western and LBB probably as much or more then anyone else on these boards. Have been doing it for a while and in all my time spent on the tracks only one thing has ever happened to me on a major track, and one other thing in a bad area of town but not a track. The real crazy thing is the thing that happened on the major track (It was Fig) did not even happen when I was cruising.
Either I am one lucky SOB or the tracks are not as dangerous as some make them out to be.
Advice I would give to the monger who is unsure.
1. If you are a person who scares easy stay away. The tracks and hood are filled with predators and they will sense your fear and use it. Also the opposite is just as bad, if you are too bold for your own good you will create your own problems that probably did not even exist before.
2. If your not street smart stay off the sidestreets. Stay on the tracks. While the "hood tracks" are not patrolled as much as the non-hood tracks they are patrolled enough to make them safer then the sidestreets. I have about 6 non-track streets I cruise looking for the diamonds in the rough or good non-pros. Good time for the average joe to do this is during the day but even then can be bad if you do not know what your doing.
3. If there is any doubt go the way of caution. Never let your little head get you into some serious situation. Always be in charge, do not let the girl take charge of anything your not comfortable with. I pick the spots, I make sure the doors are locked and windows up, I decide how long I drive around before I go into a motel or parking area while I check for tails.
4. Do not let the girl start any service until you are at your spot. Keep your wits about you, there will be plenty of time for fun when you are safe.
5. Trust your insticts.
