If they have a parade of clients and dealers all day, you can be assured that someone has noticed, and may have reported it to Uncle LEO. This will happen a lot faster with hotels than with a private residence, and is the reason why smart girls won't stay anywhere more than one day, two at the most. But you have a lot of dumb, or inexperienced, girls who'll stay at the same hotel for several days at a time. I know I wouldn't want to be the one there when Uncle LEO comes knocking to see what's going on... This is also why you'll see them camped out at certain well known hotels to watch the traffic coming and going, and noting how long they're staying. I also know that security (many of which are "special police officers") at Boston hotels communicate with each other and send out faxes with names and pictures (from their I'd when they check in) of known (or suspected) escorts. I don't know if hotels in other areas do this, but I suspect that some do (Waltham area for example). They use upscale hotels which offers a clean environment that I consider safe once you find your way past the front desk. A shower is available as well as a daily change in linen. I won't even think of stopping into a cheap motel for a visit as they usually have to many eyes watching them.
The providers who have a line of clients in and out the door attract attention and the smart ones learn that if they want to stay out of the news low volume is one avenue. The ones hungry for the $ set the tone of things that can and usually do happen with high traffic.
