A motel owner can actually have his property seized by the state for allowing criminal activity to occur on his property. I was stunned to read this. It starts with a temporary closure of the property. If any arrests for drugs / prostitution have occurred on the property it can be considered a place of prostitution. You better have a darn good attorney! What you just did is kill a DB who was engaged in a scam to deprive you of property, not your life. Guys, I'm noticing a lot of you are beginning to act like true morons, carrying weapons to these encounters. Leave them locked in the car for god's sake! If your going to do something wrong you might as well do something right in the process. First rule of thumb in this game is to take care of yourself and control your surroundings the best you can. I have been there when the nice young lady has a couple thugs beating on the door.

The blame would fall completely on the scammers and hoods creating an environment where a customer would feel the need to arm himself.
