It would be great if we could be assured that there wouldn't be any repercussion or danger to setting a thug / pimp / provider straight. But there are no assurances. Better to live another day, assume you will be hurt and never play in a thief's or enemy's playground. I try to never go against anyone who's much more versed or skilled in something than I am. Not everything is going to be announced beforehand. There's no smack talk, no tension build up. All it takes is a weapon and a person who's not in the right state of mind to do some serious damage. Also, if it is a setup like someone else mentioned you don't know how many dudes are around the corner. I got caught up with Daisy back in the day her "man" walks in tells me to leave. I walk out the room and another big dude is out there too. As I'm trying to reason another friend stops by. That's 3 dudes and a crazy ass woman now with just me. No way I'm gunna start shit.

But yeah if someone is already physically attacking me I'm not just gunna play possum because self-defense would be the only solution at that point. But I'd avoid it as much as possible even if that means running out.
