If you drive thru or ride with someone 99.9% of the time they won't even check. Crossing back to the USA you only need to show your Nexus card. Suerte!

It's a hit or miss.
If I forget my Passport I cross but I go through the Mexican line which is on the left.
If you get caught just act dumb and say you didn't know. If there is a lot of people you shouldn't have a problem.
Return I have gone multiple times with people who only have license and usually nothing happens.
I mean I am crossing like at 2 am so they probably don't care as it is.
But I've crossed in the day. But it might be different. Just letting you from my experience.

I think they know Nexus (which is used on Canada's side) is just like Sentri. Its for trusted travelers. I am going to show that. Not easy to get Nexus or Sentri, a little slap on the wrist with something will disqualify you.
