- Think about the best place to park, not the most convenient.

- Dress appropriately. Board shorts and slippers are out. Wear laced shoes an shorts or pants with carrying capacity (important for the next req). Be ready for fight or flight. Just dressing the right way is usually a deterrent in itself. Seeing you dressed like a laid back dude is going to give them an impression about you.

- Invest in a nice Surefire flashlight or equivalent. Shine that in his face before he gets too close and he is going to wonder if you are cop.

- I also carry a nice little push dagger that fits right in my pocket, right in my pocket.

- Use the resources available at the AMP. Happiness and Top have pretty good CCTV systems with decent coverage. Check them before you leave. See someone outside? Tell your girl or the Mama when they are letting you out, to hold up and let you stay awhile. Just did this with Yuna at Happiness. Guys on bikes were loitering in the lot near the stairs, totally being nosey too.

- Use aggressive body language. I've seen one guy coming out of Happiness as I was going in. He was cowering. Bad guys are attracted to people acting that way.

- Lastly I avoid places like Happiness on weekend nights. I also always do a quick recon of Bobby's, if its super busy there you will likely run into dummies on the way out.
