Yes, that whole area in Ensley used to be a good area to monger. All around there, and back in the neighborhoods around Jackson-Olin and the Pratt areas before they got hit by the tornado. That intersection right off the interstate you speak of, that's always been an area where you could occasionally see girls walking toward the gas stations from all areas. The main station by the exit is where a girl from Tuscaloosa disappeared a few years ago. The 18th & Ave S you mentioned is by Holy Family School. I've not seen girls in that specific area in a long time. For that matter, I've not seen girls around the JO area since almost before they rebuilt the school. It's good to know that they can still occasionally be found in those areas. It got so slim that it wasn't worth the drive. Back in the day, my route included all around there and by JO, then down through Pratt and then up 78 and Arkadelphia. It seems most all the ones that used to walk 1st Avenue has migrated either over there, or onto CL & BP.
