Lately, I've been going there at 1 or 2 in the morning and have seen nothing except one or two crackheads (even then they were rare at these hours). Try going to Roosevelt Ave. Between 100 and 60 something ave (or further if you want, but I've never gone that deep). It's been pretty good there lately.
