Today, after extensive work by Bothell Detectives, Patrol, and our Community Crime Reduction Team, multiple search warrants were served at five massage parlors suspected of permitting prostitution on their premises. These businesses had been the subject of ongoing community concerns, which we took seriously.
Bothell Fire partnered on today's operation and identified significant safety concerns at all five locations. As a result, each location was flagged and closed due to Fire Code violations.
Multiple individuals were contacted during the operation. Detectives worked to identify and investigate each person to determine their role—whether they were patrons, employees, or individuals who may be in need of support or services.
Investigations of this nature can, at times, reveal a nexus to human trafficking. When indicators of trafficking or exploitation are identified, our priority extends beyond enforcement—we work to connect individuals with appropriate resources, advocacy, and support services to help ensure their safety and well-being.
We appreciate the community's continued partnership in reporting concerns and helping us keep Bothell safe.
