Medellin is pretty safe. I travel to these places by myself because I don't want to have to worry about anyone, plus I'm there to have a fun experience. I talk to the locals and ask where is safe and what time should I head back to my hotel at night. These people make an average of $5-$10 USD per day. They don't want you to leave unsatisfied because you won't come back. The women in Medellin are beautiful. Year after year Miss Colombia places in the top 5 at the Miss Universe Pageant. Hope you get back to South America soon.
