Very late night coming back it's usually not that big a deal but when I'm crossing to come home, I want to get home ASAP and like the short / non-existent GE line even if the other lines are only like 10-15 deep.

Then there's the handful of times I've crossed back when it's rush hour and the GE card paid for itself 5 x over in just that 1 time avoiding a multi-hour line to get back.

As mentioned it's only useful getting back into the US, it doesn't carry any weight that I've ever found in entering other countries.

I know this is slightly off topic for TJ, but this does relate as it is an option for getting a pass for regular TJ crossings. TL / DR: It's FANTASTIC!

I've had Global Entry since the program first came out, and since I travel internationally a lot I think it's worth its weight in gold. Having to do the in person interview is a bit of a pain in the ass but you can make an appointment. I always use the Otay Mesa TSA office right at the border. One renewal cycle they did not require an interview, I just got an automatic 5 year renewal, but the other times I had to take a morning off to go do the interview. The interviews are very short and easy.

There are many great things about GE. One is that it combines all the privileges of the other cards. For example, it includes TSA Pre. There have been times when I've landed in the US from an international trip and the line for immigration was humungous, but with GE just walk to a kiosk where there is rarely a line and it's so fast and easy. Also now you don't even have to fumble with scanning your passport, just look into the camera on the kiosk and facial recognition knows who you are and your form spits out. There also seems to be less questions from the immigration agent, he takes your form and says "welcome home" and that's it. Then after you pick up your luggage there is a special line to clear customs. Sometimes when multiple flights land at once that line can be long, but the special GE line is always way short, you just walk by all the poor suckers in line and hand in your form. I am sure the chances of getting your luggage searched is way less too.

The only downside is the in person interview, but the pluses are so massive it's so worth it if you do any international travel by air, and as I said it includes TSA Pre for domestic travel too, as well as being top tier for walking back from TJ.

The other card worth its weight in gold is the APEC card for travel to Asia (e.g., Thailand and Philippines) but that is off topic for this thread, but I thought I'd mention it.

How difficult is it to have 2 days of trip (weekend) to Tijuhana for a person on H-1 B Visa (valid stamp on Passport) ?

Difficulty in terms of having H-1 B Visa? Difficulty in terms of staying & mongering in Tijuana?

Is it recommended to go on 2 days of short trip or not?

What all docs to carry (if recommended to cross border & come back) ?
