They divide the hard working members of this community that take risks and spend money to TOFTT occasionally. From the side line lurkers that contribute nothing to the community.
If a member gives another member a password, you are very likely contributing to the side line sloths waiting for a few members to do all the heavy lifting for the whole community.
If the sloths put half the effort into Taking one for the team as they do trying to scam a password from another member, they would probably get the password from me.
The lurkers need to start contributing.

One rather significant risk of a hobby phone is discovery. When it is found, you're going to need to come up with an explanation. Whereas a login to google voice can be much more subtle, and it is free to boot. Plus you can access it from your phone, tablet, computer, etc.

I text most of the time too that's why I purchase 1000 text for t dollars at speedway. Speedway is the only place I've been able to find that text card on a spinning rack. When the card disappeared off the rack, I asked the clerk about it and they said it's behind the counter and we just scan it for you here.
Others have mentioned, hiding the hobby phone can be a problem. But it is a great place to store pics and videos from your adventures.
