I have responded to several real providers (based on criteria, I know they are real) on STG and they never reply back to me. IS this common? My messages are courteous and respectful. I wonder if it's because my email portal is hotmail, which STG does not recognize if you're posting an ad. Can anyone shed some light? I prefer email, so no wives find out about my texting to women online, ya know.

Ideally you should get a cheap burner phone and use that.
If you can't do that then get yourself a texting app (may cost a little) or use a dedicated Google account with Google Voice enabled (free), then you can text in that app. Don't allow it to integrate with your main address book! And bury the icon deep.
