Welcome to Tampa, where naked and alcohol don't legally mix.
I smuggle those tiny liquor bottles in when I go clubbing. They make good tips, too.
Oh, Wow. Most of these places don't have alcohol? What the heck? In detroit they were either topless with alcohol or fullnude and no alcohol, 50/50 mix of both. And I can't believe this 6 foot rule, it makes it almost pointless. Anyways. How is that area on Lois right around the fantasyland? Is it safe enought for all types of people? I' just gettin into this scene, somewhat new, and I don't know anyone yet so I have to fly solo. When I drove by today I thought I saw a small place on the opposite side of fantasy land. It looked tiny, brown color building. Anyone know of it? If so how if is. Thanks for the help.

Mons & Odyssey Update
Gentlemen,
I have visited Tampa in a couple of years, although I will be in Orlando next week and I am debating if I should take the drive to Tampa. My question. Is it still the same old Mons and Odyssey or is it true that this 6ft law is finally being enforced? . And if not, which is the better club these days?
Thanks for the info!
is it true that this 6ft law is finally being enforced? .
NO, NOPE, NADA, NOT BEING ENFORCED,
-
NO, NOPE, NADA, NOT BEING ENFORCED,
Incaller is correct. The 6-foot rule is not being enforced. Local judges got tired of the arrests and related court cases wasting the time they could be spending on more serious cases.
Plus, the current mayor knows that there are more important issues for the local LEO to be dealing with so they have not made it a priority.
And it has helped that Joe Redner is no longer being a thorn in the side of the city council. He use to really irritate Bob Buckhorn and always posted challenging message on the marque outside of the Mons. I think a lot of the heat was originally brought on by Redner's attitude and as he has calmed down, the heat has been turned down.
Of course, I have been wrong before!

I went to Mons a few days ago and the 6ft rule is defiently not in affect. Always a good time when we go.

Enforcement hasn't dropped because Redner has "calmed down". If anything Redner has calmed down because enforcement has dropped and arguably in large part due to Redner's willingness to fight it in the courts and at the ballot box.
Look at the results. Tampa replaced its conservative Republican mayor with a more progressive Democrat who is at least pragmatic enough to realize that the cost of fighting Redner in the courts is just not worth it. Buchorn himself is no longer on the city council. Ronda Storms, a flakey conservative bimbo, who was another driving force in the fight against adult businesses, is no longer on the county commission. And Joe himself ran for the county commissioner and did quite respectably winning 40% of the vote. His percentage was even higher than that within the Tampa city limits so he may have a good chance of winning next time if he runs for the city council. Of course, it helped him a lot that he toned down his act and focused more on local issues like mass transit and the environment. But this does show how much his stock has gone up relative to the forces on the other side of the debate.
While it is definitely true the police are not going after these businesses like they had been, you wouldn't know it by the seeing how many times the Pinellas cops have raided places like Showgirls just across the Gandy Bridge or how Tampa's own finest managed to destroy Osaka. Personally, I don't think we've heard the last about the 6 foot rule. It is just on hiatus, while previous cases of enforcement wind their way through the court system and they work the kinks out of the law that tripped it up in the courts last time around.
In fact, the Hillsborough County Commission passed 3 carefully written new ordinances in September that survived their first court challenge just last month. They are just waiting until all the court challenges are done before they start to enforce them. If it survives, it will serve as a model for what might then be enacted in other jurisdictions such as the city of Tampa itself. Here is an article from the Tampa Trib:
Not Too Close, Bikini Dancers

TAMPA - Three Hillsborough County ordinances governing adult businesses are legal, a federal judge ruled Thursday.
If the ruling stands, dancers at bikini bars will have to stay six feet away from patrons, and the selling or drinking of alcohol would be prohibited at adult businesses.
Also, adult video stores would be prohibited from having private viewing booths, and workers would have to pass a criminal background check.
Thursday's ruling isn't quite the last call for lap dances.
The businesses that sued the county to strike the ordinances will appeal, said Luke Lirot, a First Amendment attorney representing three bikini bars.
He said he doesn't expect county officials to start enforcing the ordinances until after all legal challenges are exhausted.
"We're certainly disturbed by the ruling," Lirot said.
County attorneys could not be reached for comment late Thursday afternoon.
Commissioners approved the tough new ordinances in September 2006. They hired an outside attorney to help craft them so they would survive legal challenges, conducted a lengthy public hearing and included language that stated the proposed law was not meant to impede dancers' First Amendment rights.
The rules have no impact on clubs in Temple Terrace, Plant City or in Tampa, which enacted a six-foot buffer between patrons and nude dancers in 1999.
They would affect the scantily clad dancers at three bikini bars: Tootsies on East Hillsborough Avenue, Showgirls on U.S. 92 East in Plant City and Showgirls on Brandon Boulevard in Valrico.
The regulations won't outlaw the businesses, just stringently regulate them.
"There is no question from a reading of the three ordinances that they do not constitute a ban on sexually oriented businesses, but rather regulations on time, place and manner," U.S. Judge Richard A. Lazzara wrote in his ruling.
He wrote that the regulations reduce "negative secondary effects" of adult businesses, but still allow for freedom of expression.
Florida Family Association Executive Director David Caton praised the decision. "It's all designed for public safety," he said.
"I would hope that they would honor the law and not continue to fight it," he said of the businesses. But he said he expects the ruling to be appealed.
"That has been the track record of the adult business industry for the last 30 years," Caton said. He predicted the ordinances would survive the legal challenges.
Lirot predicted the opposite outcome. "That's why they make appeals courts," he said.
It was an 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruling that factored into Lazzara's decision, Lirot said. That ruling said courts don't have to take into account evidence offered by adult businesses that they don't create any "adverse secondary effects" such as crime.
Lirot called that ruling "repugnant to the First Amendment."
Last month, Hillsborough County and the owners of the Showgirls bikini bar in Valrico settled another court case for roughly $49,000. That case centered on actions the county took prior to the bar's opening in February 2006. Showgirls accused Hillsborough of manipulating its procedures to try to keep the club closed.

So, on my way back from Clearwater this afternoon, I decided to stop at the Xtasy Club. It's in the same strip plaza as Sensations. I hadn't been in there in quite awhile. Probably about 9 or 10 months.
I was sitting at the bar, and this pretty decent looking blonde comes up to me and says, "Hi. I haven't seen you in a long time. " Well, I've never seen this girl, but I went along with it. Her name is Heidi, age 25, and a very nice set of natural tata's, and shaved kitty. It was early. Probably about 1:30 and she seemed like she was wasted already.come to find out, she just started drinking this year. Never had alcohol before. As a matter of fact, the bartender wouldn't even allow me to purchase a drink for her. She is limited to 2 drinks during her shift. That's it. I didn't argue.
So, we sit at a table and she's all over me. She leaned over and took Mr. Johnson out for some fresh air. She then asked if I'the like to do a "Champagne Room" session with you. She told me that it was 50 for the bar, and 100 for her for 30 minutes. I agreed to that, and off we were to the room which is very private. She tells me that she'll be back in a minute. When she came back to the room, I knew that I was going to be in for a good time. She came back with those famous "baby wipes".
To make a long story short, she knows how to speak Russian and French, and she speaks very well. After the bbbjtccim and all over her body, I figured that it was over. Well, I was wrong. She cleans me up and starts tutoring me in French again. I told her that it may be useless to start again, but somehow Mr. Johnson decided to stay after school for another lesson.
All in all, a great time for 150 total. I'll be back, definitely. She works the day shift Monday thru Friday. There were a couple of others there that were hot also. I didn't get a chance to sample them as Heidi was all over me from the minute I walked in the door. It made me feel like I was at Mons Venus, but this time, it was worth it.
Do you know if she still work there? Thanks
Do you know if she still work there? Thanks
I called there the other day asking for her, but they said they haven't seen her in a month. She had to go up north on an emergency. But, I've been there a few times and the service has been the same with each girl that I've seen. It's really quite private in the back rooms.

I've been out of town a couple years and was wondering if a black chick named Nadia (Payne) is still around. She danced at YS, Deja Vu and bare assets. Prob other places.
