I usually ask for 1 ppm to taste the goods before agreeing to a monthly commitment and if the girl looks reliable and fun can proceed to monthly arrangement.

I think it says somewhere that if you upload a picture you get some messaging unlocked, but I've never tried that and am pretty sure even that's limited.
Honestly, I wouldn't bother if massage services are your main interest. There are certainly pros and semi pros mixed in on SA, but most of the girls don't want to negotiate based on 'services' the way you're thinking. There's at least some expectation of either a repeated per meeting allowance or a pre agreed monthly allowance. At best, you'd be paying what the other guys are paying to spend expected FS time with the girls for much less payout, unless the lure of getting massages from more 'regular' girls was what you were after.
But if you're curious and don't mind spending for the month, my approach in the past was. First, just browse and build a favorites list. If I can't find a lot of interesting prospects, based on my age, distance, etc criteria that's a sign its not a good time to spend on the premium. If I can build a decent list I then pay attention to how often they're active on the site. A prospect list full of girls who only log in once or log in once a week is pretty worthless. If I see that my Favorites list shows a lot of activity when I sort by 'Recently Active' then I'll think about pulling the trigger and pay in. Once you can message, the goal is to get as many numbers, emails, whatever, in that month so you can communicate off the site. You can start working on your list as you get numbers, but I wouldn't lock in on anyone since there's lots of dropoff between first contact and actually getting together.

I will never commit to a monthly allowance until I've seen a girl a couple times and have established a reliable connection. After I view them I block the profile and never read the messages they send. I have had 5 profiles favorite or message me in the last 2 weeks that used the exact same person in white lingerie picture.
Another trick they have discovered is they list a US city / state for their location but when you check the history they are logged in from overseas. 2 flags to help are they still use pictures that look like overseas and their profile is worded like it is their 2nd language.

SDM and SB are for the most part a waste of time and money. IMO you'd be better off trying to get yourself reinstated on SA by falling on your sword and admitting to making a mistake and you'll never do it again. That's worked for a lot of guys. Or creating a new profile. Search the board there are tips about doing this successfully vs. Not successful.
