Click the "reply"" button and it will ask you what account you want to email from. Choose gmail and it will open a compose msg window and viola. DON'T log into your craigslist account. Log out. No need to be a registered user.
Beware most of the girls are fake trying to get you to join a "verification" site.

I've found that when checking ads that an ad that is much older than those around it are fake. Also with the exception of one if you multiple variations of the same title, fake. I personally don't respond to those that want you respond to an email right off. My luck with posting has been a little better but you will still get spam asking to respond to an email address. Also like Time mention create an email account because CL will post the accounts name, not address, on correspondence at times.
