With all due respect to two respected Senior Members, you are both way off. $25 for a 15 minute BJ does not extrapolate out to $100/hour, nor is it 40 hours a week.

In an earlier entry, I reminisced about one whom I once dated three times in a single week. On the first of those dates, her surgical scar became a topic of conversation. She was working to pay off a big medical bill.

These days, the field has been almost entirely overtaken by addicts. That can have its good side. Addicts can be much more uninhibited than more rationally mercenary SGs were in the old days. The addicts have driven the prices down. In constant dollars, I find the K a big bargain compared with the old days.

A huge part of what we are paying for is to be able to have sex and some sympathy without taking on ongoing commitments. What would we otherwise be paying to—for—a spouse, fiancée, etc.? At my age, the "appropriate" dates are all, alas, unalluring old ladies! That is how we ought to measure the value of what we are getting for our money. If we can be decent about it, and not make things any worse for the SGs than they will inevitably be anyhow—well and good. (That doesn't mean we ought to overpay when the supply exceeds the demand.)

It makes for some good jokes, to talk about the tax-free and overhead-free life of the SG. The oldest profession is not forced to be overpriced because liability insurance and fixed business costs are so expensive, as the younger professions often are. Speaking of overhead costs, perhaps we can take up the special economics of the pimp occupation on the K, in WG Econ 201.

Can't you tell the difference between seriousness and fun? Lighten up. Nobody thinks SWs are living a life of luxury or earning an equivalent of $400,000 annually before taxes (perhaps with good management they could be?). These numbers are all in good fun. Our tongues are planted firmly in our cheeks. We know the reality. The General Reports thread is sometimes a place to relieve the boredom and have a little diversionary discussion regarding our mongering hobby. If you want hard news, stick to the SW Reports thread.

From a distance, it seems likely your Carol is "doing dogfood." (Heroin). Check her arms for tracks. Odds are unfortunately good for that.

If so, two problems:
1) if she IS an IV drug abuser, chances are much increased that she is HIV positive. Cover up for everything, even BJ,

I didn't notice tracks anywhere: arms, legs, or even between her toes.

She could be smoking or snorting it.

I didn't smell any drugs like crack in the bathroom, and you are right that she was in there much too long to be taking pills or just snorting a few lines. And you are right that Meth would be delivering the opposite symptoms of sleepiness. However, she could be snorting or smoking heroin and then zoning out for a few before coming back to the room because even pills would not be acting that fast.
