Hello everyone. There is a new massage place on Locust on the Eastside called Tianmei. Stopped by there earlier today. The massage lady said they just opened last week. Went for the hour and left happy. Very homey atmosphere. I might stop back to see if more is on the table.
I saw recent ads for Royal, and I am curious, based on previous reviews (moving locations and the owner's intent of being legit), if it's worth a visit. After my fav from Bamboo is gone, I'm looking for something worth my time.

Saw this ad recently. I had read and heard that Q spa was totally legit but I didn't think they put up ads. Thought they were like legit through and through. Is there new ownership? Guess I'm just hoping to hear what I want to hear.

Royal is in a sad plaza next to a bowling alley, Dollar General, and nail salon. The parking lot is small enough that it's obvious where you're walking. On my way out, a LEO SUV was in the lot doing a loop. On my way in, a short Asian woman, 40's, immediately offered me 4-hands, which I declined. She offered a discount, which made me curious how young the other 2 hands would be, but I said next time. I started on my back. The massage started terrible on the shoulders but ended up decent for the rest. It's clear she hasn't been trained well. There was little discussion about l1 offerings, and after starting like a jackhammer, she slowed the pace without coaching. She let me roam a little under but had the standard soft flab.
Tianmei is close to campus and a vape shop, so there's a lot of foot traffic. In fact, the entrance splits into upper-floor apartments. When I walked up, a lady on the phone was having a shouting match to be left in. When I entered the shop, I could hear her upstairs yelling at whoever was up there. For a minute, I had slight domestic safety concerns with my pants off. There were two ladies there, and both seemed 40-50. They have a framed signed in the room stating that it's a legit establishment and anything sexual in nature is not allowed. Again, short with standard soft flab. The massage was worse than Tianmei and had an equal lack of enthusiasm for the fireworks. She asked for 50 tips when I was offering 40. Not wanting to argue in her broken English, I relented. I doubt I'll be back because there's nothing I'm curious about.

Still on the quest for a decent massage in town. Stopped by Foot and La this past week.
When I walked into Foot, there were a couple of ladies that greeted me. They weren't old or ugly, but the one I drew had some gnarly teeth. When she came back into my room, she wore a mask. I asked for half an hour, and the experience was not great. The back massage was decent. When I flipped, the neck and shoulder were good. Then she assumed I wanted to touch myself and poured warm oil on the twig and berries. I told her I didn't want to touch myself, and she wiped it all up. The rest of the massage was unremarkable. She asked for a tip, but she did not receive it.
I went to La Massage, which I had not seen many reviews for the first time. It's at an odd location bc it's really close to several other massage places. It has a very narrow hallway with a few individual massage rooms, all self-contained. My MT was probably the easiest on the eyes from my recent visits. Her massage felt abusive at times, really using her pointy elbow to dig behind my shoulder blade. I asked for half an hour. She started really gently on the handy, which I appreciated, but it quickly got to shake weight speeds. After the fireworks, she walked out, and I thought she was coming back to work my shoulders or neck, but apparently, it was over. Because she came back 2 minutes later, telling me to go.
I doubt I'll go back to either.

How do you think the ladies decide who's going to massage who when us mongers come in? Do you think they base it off of looks or attraction? The highest ranked or mamasan only works on the attractive, fit guys and the lowest ranked has to massage someone less desirable?

Decent parking, entrance not too exposed. You can do your walk of shame in 20 feet, then round the corner and you're a grey man again. The place has all the trappings of a typical AMP. At this particular moment, I didn't care if I got the HE, so I figured it would be worth a shot for the review, if for no other reason.
I walk in and am immediately greeted by a short therapist, big rack and no butt. Typical. Didn't bother getting a name for reasons that will become clearer. I ask her if there's a TS both because I enjoy it but I also wanted to let her know in my own way that it wasn't my first hoe-down. She says sorry no, collects my 70 and leads me to a room to get comfy.
She comes back and begins what can be vaguely described as a "massage". Basically, she pours cold oil on your back, then does about 20 (I counted) large, quick circle movements with her hands or forearms covering the area of your neck to the small of your back. Not terribly therapeutic or relaxing, but just the sheer force of friction has an oddly pleasing numbing effect. Yes, 150. And yes that's a lot. I was already there and wanted the relief, so I caved. I rationalized it to myself at the time, but it definitely wasn't worth it. It is what it is at this point. I've made worse financial decisions in the past.
