Korean Bar Reports

Lastnight stop at CS. Walk in the door and the place was pack, saw that korean guy use to bartend from Green Tee. Then see the old lady that I know wanted me to sit with her but than she started singing that song, I then realize it was MM gay song they were playing. GUNDAM STYLE. I was outter there. So you Mama's like me stay away from your bar on Saturday night FM, just play that gay song in your bar all night.

Any of you guys hit any of the Korean bars up today for the Cowboys game? Just trying to gauge how packed it was or if anyone even went? I'm usually at a sports bar for football games and I'm curious how packed Korean Bars and Strip Clubs get. FYI, some strip clubs have really really good bar food!

Not open, so I, and my friend Greg, moved on to SPIII around 4:30. One guy in the place, period. Thought about hitting up the AMP scene, but bailed for the bars to catch the game.

How packed were the bars? Nada. Felt like I was in the movie "Vacancy," what with all of the empty seats and booths. Stopped by Splash, but didn't see much in the way of BGs. Wandered down to King Arthur's palace. Three people at the bar, all gazing at the game. Greg and I grabbed a couple of beers. Someone. I don't know who, since I do neither Sheridan bars nor older KBGs. Walked in while we were there, wearing a deep blue dress. Sat with an older gentleman, who proceeded to demonstrate that being an LVB isn't age-restrictive. Downed my beers; friend did the same; both of us bounced.

Trekked toward Misty's. Grabbed two more beers. We were the only people in the place, aside from the BGs and some guy who was sitting with them and pacing all over the bar. Owner maybe? Green shirt. Spent a lot of time standing in the doorway. We weren't there two minutes before a KBG in a light blue (teal, perhaps) dress propositioned my friend. Not sure of her name, though her picture is on the wall above the bar. Her and a baby, it's the biggest picture on the top row. Didn't have to buy her anything for her time, but she talked a good game. Spent a lot of time talking about her watch and how much fun it'd be for one of us to have her and football at the same time. Easy score, if anyone is looking for one. Anyone know her name? Anyway, some MILFish chica rubbed her boobs all over me while I was watching the game, but I passed. A little too droopy for my Snoopy.

Grabbed dinner, then headed over to Vegas III. Why Vegas III? Because we needed to complete our GILF tour of Hawaii, I guess. Sweet bartender, actually. And it's a nice, relaxed club. I like the pastoral atmosphere. Again, empty booths. Sat at the end of the bar and watched a couple of people take BGs into private rooms, girls fixing up their hair when they reappeared. Plenty of guys getting groped at the bar. Greg and I just fondled our beers. And Doritos. Didn't see anyone worth pursuing, so we purposefully made ourselves inconspicuous. Some girl from Kalani called out to us as we exited, but we needed more food in our bellies at that point. Also, Dallas won, which ruined my night. Needed to mope.

Bar was full of guys staring at Myra's assets.

A lot of booths had small groups (not your typical golf guys).

The only reason why I am writing is that I thought. Shit, ain't going to be no action if the place is this crowded for all games (NFL, College on Thursdays, MNF, etc.).

I would love to sample Myra, but she was running back and forth at the bar only.

Maybe it will die down to normal- or at least the slow days will motivate some of the ladies (no young 'uns).

Don't know when they will be opening, but if and when they do, they will be on a 6 month lease, just to see how business will be.

D'amour getting more active with new older LVBs rotating in to see bartenders Suni and Sue; the irregulars (who reside at Ala Moana park) are chasing the regular bar guys away. Ellie's predicted to be the next daytime dead spot due to sourpuss June; nobody like drink with one lemon with body, face, and emo issues. It's a good thing her bartender partners are decent enough to bring in the hopeless LVBs. Jasmine filling with construction workers who get loud and obnoxious; they even irritate one another and block access to, around, and through the bar (no wonder they're 'people without grace'). This is the most entertaining of the dayshift KBs due to the commotions and Mary in tight tops and short shorts.

Tried to check out CS but not one empty seat in the house so ended up at Club Kalani (formerly You & I). From what I saw, there's not much to write about here. Some chunky lady tried to be my "pah-to-nah" for the evening. Bought her one drink since she brought some food. Food was not bad though.

Get one cute bartender working tonite at Lucky Honu in Kalihi. Bar was full with guys trying to make time with this nice chika. Looks and sounds local, but found out she korean who went school here. I don't think she plays. I just sat and watched what was going on there.

First time going to an FM. First thought: Everyone should go to an FM. Lots of good info.

First stop: Camelot. Deader than John F. Kennedy. Drank two beers with a friend, then excused myself for a phone call. Couldn't get out fast enough. Saw a guy (monger, maybe) playing with an iPad on the couches. Most excitement the bar offered, aside from ESPN highlights.

Met Oldee outside. Really nice guy! Very inviting. He's serious when he says everyone should come to the FMs just to hang out and talk story, gather intel. Anyway, on to Moonflower. Wasn't paying much attention to the crowd, but learned about a potential Kepani provider. Going to check back in a few days, once my work schedule clears. For some reason, I really enjoy being in Moonflower. The atmosphere works for me. That aside, there weren't a ton of girls I'd want to play with, Kepani girl aside. And maybe a girl in a blue dress, Met Vapor, too. Another nice guy. FM guys are chillaxed and personable. Fun to be around. Oh, Michael Jackson was there, doing his thing. Dove into some Garth Brooks and Kenny Loggins, too. Guess he's expanding his repertoire.

Secrets. Well, the highlight was meeting another monger, someone closer to my age. Plenty of play available it seemed (we got asked a couple of times) , but I was again stricken by my high standards. In an AMP, when I know what I'm getting (more or less) , I'm slightly less exacting. In bars, though, I just can't bring myself to play unless I really want a girl. Good tips from fellow mongers about how to "dangle the carrot." Might go back, but only after exploring a bit more.

Twilight is always fun. Only saw three or four girls working, and only one or two with customers. At this point, I was just longing for imported beer. Bud Light and Heineken taste like water to me.

Final stop (for my lurker friend and I) : Casino. We weren't seated more than two or three minutes before MS brought two girls to the table. Plopped a bottle on the table, too, then asked for pay. Very aggressive. FMers confirmed that it was a total LVB bar, which I'd expected, but I think us younguns, and one guy in particular (not me) , did young mongers proud by NOT partaking or getting robbed. Going to have to go back, though, just to see how far I can push my luck without buying a neko for anyone. Two drink minimum, before I walk. Seriously, though, if the prices run higher than an AMP, then it's not worth my time. And I want to know what's in store up front or I'm not going to waste my time.

Bottom line: Good people, good intel, good snacks, and good fun. Next time around, hope to meet more people.
