The main I was trying to get across, however, is to prepare for the worst and overcome it. The system is set up to f-ck you over if you get caught up in it, but if it is your first time you can get out of it. Ultimately they want your money, not to ruin your life. But as Ho Hunter aptly pointed out, you can't win on overwhelming them with "I was just giving her a ride, prove otherwise!" or that / if they didn't Mirandized you, or any other Hollywood bullshit where you get off on a technicality. If you pick a fight with them, you'll lose. What you want is an attorney who knows who to play ball and knows what to ask for vis-a-vis the balance between what they'll accept and what is not going stick out on your record. If this is a first offense it should not be a problem to get out of it with a decent lawyer.

Having been there myself, I know this is an incredibly stressful time and it definitely f-cks with your head in a big way. But if you can get your head around the idea that everything will be okay if you can keep your wits about you and just be patient, then everything indeed will be okay.

I am happy to help with an attorney referral. Most of the dudes I know practicing criminal law are in the suburbs specializing in DUIs. But if no one else steps up with a champion for the hobby, then I am sure I can help track down the right resource.

Mr. Johnson, a similar thing happened to me a couple of years ago in a different city. I was caught by two LEO on foot patrol with a SW in my car. We weren't caught in the act, but since we were getting ready she was naked from the waist down when they tapped on the window. It wasn't fun dealing with the good cop / bad cop routine. One was acting like he wanted to kill me, the other was pretending to be my minister; I knew neither was out to help me but I kept my cool and was respectful. They inspected my wallet, car, phone, ash tray, everything. As for the SW, she got searched and my donation was taken from her before they told her to beat it. Then they fucked with me some more before telling me to never come back to Dodge. When I was getting my act together the donation blew off the hood into the street. The bad cop said I dropped something so I picked it up; it was the only good thing that happened that day. I consider myself lucky, I was never charged or summoned. My car wasn't towed, I wasn't in the news, I didn't lose my job, my SO never found out, and I still have my license to carry. There's a lot of risk for mongers in this hobby. Be safe to all.

I know it's easy for me to say this, but try not to worry about it too much. I had a similar experience when I was detained by two undercover cops after leaving a girl's incall about a year ago. I posted an account of it in some other thread. If you search on my posts you can find it.

I gave them ZERO information about what I was doing there, but I had to give them my identification. I could have been summonsed, but wasn't.

Why? Because I had no prior criminal record (they ran a check right then and there) AND I said nothing incriminating. You, on the other hand, were caught with her pants down. Chances are they will just be content to bust your balls, but to be on the safe side, you might want to lawyer up. I did, and it was the most expensive fuck I've ever gotten: $500 for a one hour consult. You can find cheaper. Don't be afraid to negotiate, but until you get the summons in the mail, don't worry about it. As a matter of fact, there is nothing you can do in the meantime. But remember this: The more time that elapses, the weaker their case gets. Memories fade, people change jobs, die, and retire.

If they don't serve the summons within a couple of weeks, their case gets weaker with every passing day. If you have no prior record, and they didn't witness anything like the exchange of money for sex (technically they need to have witnessed or overheard an agreement for sex for a fee) they have to build a case on circumstantial evidence, which they don't want to do. Every police department has what is called a police prosecutor; a cop trained in the law. They might run the case by him, and he'll decide whether or not to go forward with a probable cause hearing. If the case is weak to start with, they won't bother. They have bigger fish to fry. They want slam dunks, which your case is not.

This is definitely not a strategy I recommend though unless you know what you're doing. In my case, I had some very good hard evidence to support my story.

Was the cop in uniform? If you were not "in the act" and the "cop" was not in uniform and you did not see the girl in handcuffs, I wonder if you got set up. Meaning no real cop, no real SW. Just a scam to steal your money.
