Is this place back open? I passed by it today and wondered, because the signs are still up. Nagoya across the street is certainly open.
Didn't know it closed. I drove by a few weeks ago and the OPEN sign was on. Sorry I don't have any current info.

It was closed for a long time during the busts late last year, if I recall correctly.

Unlicensed
Rumor has it that Japanese Spa was smacked for unlicensed massage.
How does one find the HCSO reports?

The most recent arrest that matches this would be at something called Endless Summer Spa, which I've never heard of.

bust
As I understand it from an AMP source, it was J Spa. Apparently on that day most if not all of the AMPs in Tampa were visited by a UC. Each was aksed if there was an LMT working. Apparently J Spa did not. This info comes from someone in the business. In fact if you follow TM's link you will see the individual is employed at J Spa.

How weird. They must have changed it, because when I first saw the arrest, her employer was listed as "Endless Summer Spa".

It is located on the same property as the Jspa. I don't understand why they are next door to each other. Every time I pass by them I never see any cars.

Endless Summer is apparently a 'legitimate' spa that is right next door, to the north of Japanese Spa. They also offer nail service, waxing, etc. according to the advertising on the side of the building. I believe it used to be Ansley health foods a few years ago.

Good old Tampa, still wasting taxpayer money protecting the public against unlicensed massage therapist.

I know. Just the other day I was thinking what a terrible menace to human happiness and civilization the unlicensed massage therapist is. Why are we wasting our time against al-Qaeda, when this is going on? My praise to the City of Tampa for wisely using the taxpayer's dollars to combat this great evil.

Endless Summer and Japanese Spa are both owned by the same person.
They are matching, but separate buildings on the same lot.

J Spa vs. Japanese Spa
Endless Summer and Japanese Spa are both owned by the same person.

It's still confusing. Endless Summer is connected to Japanese Spa on Kennedy but J Spa is on Gandy Blvd. The arrest record indicates the lady worked at Endless Summer first, and then later indicated J Spa. So, either LE was/is confused or the lady is. In any event, she has probably fallen victim to the nation's anti-immigration mindset and will probably be sent back home.

Maybe she worked shifts at BOTH places?

True, it can be confusing.
Sometimes Japanese Spa on Kennedy is abbreviated to J-Spa for short.
Both J-Spa on Gandy and Japanese Spa on Kennedy, as well as Endless Summer next door to Japanese Spa are all owned by same person.
Japanese Spa on Kennedy used to be located in a different building down the street in the same location that now houses "Oxygen Spa."
The twin buildings on Kennedy were built at the same time about 5 years ago. Japanese Spa moved to the the new location and the front building facing Kennedy sat vacant and unoccupied for the first few years. The sign on the back building read "Japanese Spa." But, there was a sign on the front building that read "J-Spa."
Last year Jeannie opened the tanning and waxing business in the front building and replaced the J-Spa sign with a new one to reflect "Endless Summer."
