I recently moved to Figueroa near USC and the Coliseum. I had used my west side storage unit a lot in the months prior to the move as I was in transition, so the manager of the storage place knew me pretty well. An apparently freshly minted couple walked past him on the sidewalk while he was out there smoking and the girl said to the guy "I would still be at that street corner if you hadn't come talk to me!" The guy's arm was around the girl as they strode past, and my friend's impression was that they had just met but were soon about to get a whole lot better acquainted.
Last night curiosity finally got the best of me and after a little searching I stumbled on the SW and Figueroa SW forums here on this site. I read all the way back to the beginning of the year on the SW forum, rather enthralled by the information and funny stories. I learned that the HG was basically through the 60's on Fig, and another hot spot was the 90's up to Century, with a few sprinkled in between.
I decided to go on my first "information only" patrol last night to see if I could finally prove this "Fig-a-ho-a" theory. You know, for science. It was Sunday, but I thought there might still be some action because Monday (today) is a holiday, and the SW's might be out knowing that mongers have the next day off. I waited until just after 11 pm, got in my car and ventured down the HG for the first time. Or at least the first time at night, specifically looking for SW's.
I saw about half a dozen BSW's on Fig from Gage to Century. All but two had what seemed to be pretty nice, athletic figures, accentuated by their high heels, but they were all black as night and I couldn't make out there faces at all just driving by without stopping. No LE to be seen, but perhaps they had recently made some rounds and that's why I had only spotted about 6 rather than 20 or 30 like it seems is pretty common based on what I've read.
I made a right on Century and went down to Western and made another right to see how that situation compared. Reports I've read make it sound like Fig is typically where more action is at out of the two. I rode all the way back up to MLK to make sure I didn't miss anything, and just like on Fig I ended up seeing a total of 6 dark as night BSW's scattered about. Sorry to be anti-climactic, but then I went home without talking to anyone as I had planned. Only one LE SUV on Western just driving at the time.
Are there any particular times or places there tends to be more LSW's on these two strips? Is it worth hitting nearby side streets, or best to stay on the main drag? I'll probably go on another patrol sometime soon-ish now that I've dabbled and have a feel for it. I am used to paying considerably more, like 50/120 at a Latina aromatherapy place if I want FS, or 40/60 or 60/60 at an AMP for a decent massage and extra hand. Not into CBJ or CHJ, but CFS for 60 or 80 is cheap and sounds new and exciting.

I went out at about 10:30 till 1. Nothing really grabbed my attention. The HG is unbearable past 11:30. The girls stand in the middle of the street and cause traffic both ways. It took me about 10 minutes to get out of there.
