It's not rocket science people so listen up. If you going to park at Don Q's, always walk in the store first. Late night hours probably best not to be too obvious, so if the structure is empty probably best to park where there's cars. The safest and best option though if going late hours would be to park on the street if possible. Evenings, sundays, and city holidays you don't have to pay as city meter patrol isn't working. I consistently can at least find parking on the ewa side of the Don Q, next to the bus stop. Of course I'm sure some of you are lazy asses and think it's too far. Daytime the only issue would be is if there is no parking. Chances are though the structure will have something. Despite being able to blend in easier, would be wise to at least walk in the food court for a sec. But the chances guards will spot you is fairly low, especially if you only going be gone only for a hour or 2. It takes time to tow your car away, but if they notice you from the start and call it in, then they will have substantial amount of time. I do know a couple of people who would use the Don Q lot as their personal stall. They got away with it for a while but eventually got towed. The one thing they all failed to do though was pretend to be a customer. So if you do park at Don Q, just use common sense and realize you are parking on private property. I think it's important to know what the real parking situation at DQ! They do mark tires AND tow cars from the upper deck! I have seen the guy (woman) marking tires and I have seen two cars towed from upstairs. One day, about a year ago, I parked up there, and did not go into DQ (like I do now), and as I turned the corner heading to Happines, a voice called, "Sir, sir!" I looked up and there was a guy with a DQ vest on. "You can't park here- this lot is for Don Quixote customers only!" Be smart- go into the store first, also don't push your luck and stay more than two hours!

I check my tires every time and they are never marked. Perhaps it is the times when I go. Happy told me that 4 hours is okay. That's where I got the number. I NEVER have close to a problem if I stay 2-2:30 hours or less either upstairs or downstairs.

One hour is 75 cents, free on sundays, holidays and after 6 pm. However you can't park on Makaloa weekdays between 3-6 pm HPD will call the tow wagon.

They have a private company who monitors both parking lots (front and two story structure). This all started because 24 hour fitness members and employees were parking there. Also people who lived in nearby condos were guilty too. Security has a employee vehicle list and all vendors and visitors need to sign in with their info. So yes they can cross reference vehicles that have been there for longer than normal periods. I have heard them make PA announcements for owners of vehicles. For those thinking about parking upstairs late at night, they do chain up the ramp.
