If your name is not there then you probably won't get through. In their eyes, your voice is personal and they want to hear it. It tells alot about us with our speech and the words that we use. How we phrase a question and how we respond to them are important pieces. They definitely size us up. I think sometimes we give them a feeling of risk by that phone conversation that prompts them to ignore us later.
