Streetwalker Reports

Drove down Woodson around 10 this evening and saw a blonde gal strolling along the oppisite side of the road from me, couldn't tell if it was Annie or Kim, she had on a hat and could see her blonde pony tail. I went down a little way's and turned around and as I got closer I saw a white pickup stopped in the road and she jumped in, 2 car's behind me I saw red light's come on as the truck turned left onto a side street the cop followed. I came back by about 20 minutes later and the truck was being hooked up to a tow truck, hope it wasn't one of you guy's from here.

Ducky, thanks very much for that story about the man's pickup truck being towed away. That's very useful and helpful information for all of us.

Looking at Yahoo Maps, if this happened along Woodson Road south of Tudor and Midland Blvd., it probably happened in the Overland municipality. So I called the Overland Police tonight to learn what I could.

I neglected to ask if Overland can take someone's car away if they pick up a street walker, but I doubt that Overland has an automobile forfeiture law like that.

The officer said the pickup might have been towed away for any number of reasons, like expired tags, expired drivers license, an outstanding warrant for the driver's arrest, etc. So hopefully, our man's truck wasn't towed away for picking up the street walker, but for some other reason.

According to the Overland rep. I spoke to on the phone, it's the officer's discretion whether the officer just issues a ticket for soliciting or if he formally arrests the solicitor and hauls him off to jail. This might be another reason the pickup was towed away--if the fella was hauled off to jail. But even in this case, I think it's just a simple tow-away and not a forfeiture of property.

I'll be saying a prayer tonight for our brother in arms.

It is very important to remember to be polite to police officers when pulled over for anything. You can argue with the judge. Giving an officer lip is a sure way to spend rest of the night in jail. Expired tags, warrants, wants (especially after the stories in the Post), and it not being his truck could all of led to a tow.

Was out Saturday on the SS stroll- Saw 3 girls on was getting harrassed by LEO @ the park- seen a bit more heat down there lately with the warmer weather- careful out there boys.

The last time I checked, its NOT illegal to offer a ride to a girl walking down the street.He could have been arrested for any number of things:warrants,drug posession,illegal registration, etc. etc. etc.

Just moved to town and was wondering about some good cross streets to start with? Any help is apreciated. Is there anything easy like Colfax in Colorado?

Scuuze[/QUOTE]It actually is in a few locations. Have seen the 'do not pick up Hitchhiker' streey signs in Washington Park, I believe, along that section of '111.

Not a State law by any means, but a municipal/township kind of thing. On those very few areas I have found it, it was out mongering ;)

Payforfun & Scuuze: The signs posted near the area (hwy 111) are there because of the Illinois State Prison (Southwestern Correctional Center-the old Assumption Highschool). Signs like this are posted on most roadways that are near prisons. You would be okay to pick up in this area because Southwestern is an all "male" population. I hope this info clarifys this.

Those signs are around the prison at the SE corner of 64 and 111. Probably not a good place to offer a guy a ride.

On nights when the Cardinals have a game, The STLPD re-assigns many LE from the better neighborhoods to the game detail. The South side stroll is considered a "better" neighborhod.:-) Bottom line: on game nights you will see VERY FEW LE in the stroll area. I was there last night and in 2 hours only saw 1 LE. BTW,saw at least 20 Sw"s last night (about 1/2 in cars). Scuuze

Scuuze[/QUOTE]Up in Rockford where they run stings frequently one of the charges they bring against a girl who is too smart to offer an undercover cop sex for money is "solictitation for a ride on a roadway". Not as bad a charge as prostitution but one still has to go to court. Something girls often don't do so they get a "failure to appear" warrant. Have not seen any guys being charged with offering a ride however.

Colfax, had some good times on there years ago.

Met up with Kim last night by the carwarsh on woodson. She is an older gal but still good looking, blonde hair and good body, very good service. I saw Mindy out this morning around 10: 30, she was hanging out around Woodson and Brown Road.

The SLPD is shorthanded, just ask them. A baseball game requires about 20 off duty officers for security work in the stadium, plus traffic control and depending on the night, extra patrols in the Landing, etc.

Therefore, no extra officers for stroll patrol. GO CARDINALS!
