Hi, I joined this forum solely to post about her (if it's even a her...).

I contacted her and she, too, told me I had to deposit the first half as an amazon gift card. Now, this is not totally unreasonable...she does have to worry about no-shows. However, as others have indicated, I also have to be concerned about her taking the gift card and ceasing all contact with me. I really didn't think it was a fraud at first...after all, she posted pics and her web site is quite elaborate. So here is what I told her...I would give her the deposit if and only if she gave me the address (I had requested incall) where we would be meeting. Needless to say, I never heard back from her.

I was still curious, so I decided to google her. I couldn't find any reviews, but what I did find are backpage ads from other locations in the USA For [B]THE SAME DATES[/B].

Second, yes, it is completely unreasonable to expect half the payment before you even meet in person. They should reasonably expect someone to place a donation in sight once you arrive, but not before. As for "no shows," think of it like an airline. A lot of times they double or over book expecting that some will not show or that they can rush the service in a tight or that they'll even bump you to the next available flight time. They also have their own little "do not fly" list for those who piss them off and getting on and off of that list will vary some by carrier, but no showing is a pretty sure way, especially if its habitual. Short answer: no shows are a cost of doing business, an overhead factored in just like a room to host.

Finally, good catch though on the Google. Always check out their reviews just in case.

Clearly there must be trust at some point in a relationship. When you give the donation before the service, you at least have a real person in a real place before you. But even then, the service may be terrible, or worse, you could be subjected to a Cash and Dash (This happened to me in Las Vegas! But to give cash up front with no person present is just obviously fraudulent! How gullible are we? LG.

As I said, the donation should be placed out where it could be SEEN, usually without discussion, and THEN placed under your shirt or something in a location further back in the room so there's no grabbing it on the way out the door. They know you have the donation so that they don't have to be worried about getting ripped off and you can be reasonably sure they can't grab and run. I have heard from certain hobbyists that they agree to half up front. A lot of it is going to be trust: your history with a provider, their general attitude, and reputation from sites like this one. In the end, always go with your gut and don't be afraid to walk if the situation isn't to your liking. They need this more than you in most cases and most hobbyists aren't their to cheat a girl out of her services; on the other hand, the ratios of providers trying to rip you a new one is a lot higher.

Also, a good point that LG makes is that at some point in this hobby, you're going to feel cheated, either because you got scammed, the service was horrible, or even getting rushed through a session you paid for upfront. The best you can do is take precautions that prevent it in the future, and even then you might not avoid it. Mitigate your risks by being informed.
