Doesn't pass the smell test
It's okay to be cynical, but in this case when both the FBI and HLS were involved with a multi month surveillance and planning operation, I believe it has to be legit.
Problem with a burner is where do you hide it?
I didn't see anything about a multi month surveillance and planning operation but when Local police involve the State Police, the FBI and HLS there's got to be something going on that isn't obvious. What the heck is HLS doing in this? Potential terrorist? FBI for a minor solicitation involving 2 girls? They claimed they didn't know about the trafficking until they got to the girls and the guy came home. That just doesn't pass the smell test. They were looking for something bigger, expecting something bigger. More likely the girls turned to the police or were turned by the police. If they were not in on the whole thing then why would the police believe them right away? No arrest at the scene, no charges even if later dropped when they confirmed what was going on, just 'we rescued them' and caught the trafficker and drug dealer. 'The women are receiving treatment for the addiction and counseling. ' Pretty sweet if you're them, no charges, no questions, no nothing just treatment and counseling.
They were expecting to catch the trafficker or they wouldn't have the FBI also it said that he's facing federal charges. They had to be looking into something big like a trafficking ring or major drug ring.

It's one of those roles that government agencies are responsible for that you would never think of. Just like a Secret Service is responsible for protecting the President but they also deal with credit card fraud and counterfeiting of money so HLS involvement is not surprising.

This is key if you have a SO where to hide it? The best is at work but I'm retired. Car sounds good but where in the car? Spare tire, hope she doesn't get a flat. It's risky having a burner. Any other suggestions?
Okay so now we got another part of the story
According to the Providence Journal.
"The investigation began in November, the affidavit said, after state police Detective Heather Donahue got information about two women being prostituted from 149 Ridge St. By a man nicknamed "Black. ".
I absolutely agree there might've been a huge thing behind this that LE was after, but like someone said, blaming the rape victim, we shall not.
http://www.abc6.com/story/27853570/man-charged-with-sex-trafficking-two-women-in-providence
So the guy had two underage girls and guns plus drugs!
I feel so stupid that I didn't notice anything.
The report mentioned that they were one adult lady only not two! So I am confused now.
