I think selling sodas and water all day at intersections seems like unfun lousy work, and I'd rather have a lesser car and not have to do that work, than a nice car and have to do that work, so I'm not mad.

Just picture a room with block club members from the hood being feted and caressed by white shirt cpd, gold hats as well as aldermen and women with 20 k watches and nice designer clothing telling YOU what to do for free while they make an alderman's salary as well as a partner in a law firm doing business with the city. And can not even show up to shovel manure around trees for a big event that they show up to do a quick photo op and on to their next big photo op! The city does not care about these people one bit! What I did learn though as a take away from all of my volunteer work (lots of time and money BTW) is that people that are on the street are on the street by choice in most but rare cases. Another thing an insider with the county told me (he's a cool mexican guy ex marine vet that does interpreting work at 26th & cal) is that prosecutors that have an axe to grind with a particular person or entity will tell these imigrants look we don't want you, we want him or her or them! Now do what we tell you and we will make you legal, give you a nice crib, nice ride, phones, glimmeriing nails, designer clothes. That is the way it do work, folks. Sad but true! Now as far as me I give no cash! I'll hand them a bottle of sealed ice cold water, hand sanitizer or a sealed bag of cookies or cakes, however no I will not hand them cash! Did my share. Don't regret it but just sayin. I kept seeing the same 10 faces at all of the cap, dac and community meetings and events I went to and that totaled into the 100's! Nuf. Stosh out.

I also paid for the "lifetime" RS2 k thing a long time ago, like 15 years, and of course the "new" owners aren't honoring it. Hello gentlemen, I will be in downtown Chicago for a couple of nights this week, staying along Columbus just north of the river. It looks like there are a couple of AMPs in the area that might be decent options, but they seem to close by 8:30 PM, and most of my free time will be later in the evening.

And the board itself goes back to the late-90's, but there was some major crash over Y2 k so they had to relaunch it months later.

In the early 2000's UG was THE place for info on NYC / NJ and was full of degenerates as bad or worse than this place. If you wanted to know about a BBFS KGirl spa in deep Queens or an unlisted Dominican strip club in Hunts Point it was the place to go. I would spend a week with family, and another week for some me time. I've been weary about going to other countries due to possible language barrier, but I think I'll just need to bite the bullet and go somewhere.

From reading the forums the culture there is very different. People have very personal conversations there that go on for months. A lot of them would have been deleted oe moved to the off topic thread here. But I can see how it promotes a stronger sense of brotherhood than here.

Still, it took way too many pages of reading before getting any real recommendations for women, which was what I really wanted. But you're right, there were some tidbits that I appreciated, like hotels that are monger friendly, whether an airbnb is a better option, how to negotiate, etc.

I've seen reports about them in New York but I've seen nothing in the Chicago area which is baffling to me. There is no action around the Chicago hotel, even if it gets a little rowdy over there.
