I don't believe there is any difference when crossing the US / MX border by car or foot The Global entry will allow you to streamline the TSA process for flights though and get back into the US quicker, whereas the Sentri will not. It's only good for land travel across US / MX / Canada. I recently got my Sentri and at the interview the BCP agent suggested I add Global Entry for $25 extra. So I took his advice. For $25 you can't beat having both, especially if it's good for 10 years.

I put in an Application for a sentri several months ago (Jan I believe) and still haven't seen the status of the App change from "Wait for conditional approval". I figured next time I go I would ask in person to see. Seems like it's just stuck and not moving. Appreciate any info you can share.

The application / background check is pretty thorough.

Plus if you open a credit card account with Delta AMEX, they will reimburse your Global Entry fee.

Global Entry is superior to SENTRI if you are an American citizen. There are more processing centers and it works for all international travel (SENTRI is just for Mexico, NEXUS is just for Canada). Both allow you to have a vehicle.

With Global Entry I skip all lines and just walk right to the front. You don't even need to show your passport to get in to the US. The GE card is enough. There is no annual fee and the price is essentially the same. There is no reason to get SENTRI if you are a US citizen.

You didn't screw up any prices. that's the standard ask in HK now. If you try you can get girls to agree to lower, but in HK they are all starting at $100 now. Some guys will tell you never to pay that and if you look around and talk to different girls you'll find some who will accept $80 (or even less, depending on the girl and the day). But I don't worry about that kind of thing. If you buy her a drink that's $10, so if you talk to five different girls looking for that cheaper date, you'll end up spending more anyway. If you go to the lower tier bars you'll find girls who will go for a lot less, but of course you will need to get a room in their hotel.

I've RTFF. I have global entry and I really want to head down there. How much scrutiny about the travel? Do I need an excuse to enter Mexico? Will they question a lot on the way back? Really need some Mexican poon. PM details if you prefer.

Never any issues with covid, you don't need a "legit" reason for visiting Mexico. You're a US citizen, you can't be denied reentry.

HK is currently closed but should re-open within a week or so according to them.

I've never been to HK alone, usually with my lady and we just go to watch, never gone to a room. I would love to go there alone sometime but also feel un-safe in TJ strip clubs alone. Is this a valid fear or do many guys go alone?

Also how does Dejavu TJ compare to HK? Parking at least seems ample compared to HK but is there much quality?

CBP agent will have question regarding the reason for the trip and declarations.

Girls are asking $100 on top of the room for $19 and the $1 tip to the cleanup boy. Of course you can shop around and find a few girls who will accept $80 (or even sometimes less). But HK and Adelita girls are pretty firm on price. Also, if you shop around and buy $10 drinks for each girl you interview, the total cost will go up. At the smaller clubs you can find girls who will take less, or will give more than the standard 30 minutes.

You don't need a legit reason to enter Mexico, but there is a possibility they will require you to pay $30 for a permit. Some people call it a visa (it technically is not), but the formal name is FMM (Forma Migracion Multiple). The FMM is supposed to be free for 7 days, but the 180-day permit is $30. Many people have reported being forced to buy the 180-day FMM even for a short trip. If you have a valid reason to enter, they may not make you buy it. Dentist appointment is a common excuse guys are using, but that doesn't always work. There are also reports of guys being denied entry to Mexico entirely, but being allowed through for a bribe of $20. This is cheaper, but without an FMM you'd have to pay again if you went back.

That's for getting into Mexico. For returning to the US, if you have Global Entry that makes it easy. They probably won't ask what you were doing, but it doesn't matter. you are a US citizen returning home. The DE card should get you in with no problem.

I applied for my Senti back in Oct 2019. At that time they quoted me 52 weeks. As it turned out I was approved in November 2020, which was longer than 52 weeks. However taking into account all the shutdowns from covid, I was thankful to get it that quickly. You will still have to go the interview then wait for your card, but it will all be worth the wait in the end. Crossing the border with Sentri is a breeze, even compared to the Ready lanes when you drive across.

They may expect guys to show up and then just go to the speakeasies. If they do re-open, I'm curious if they will be allowed to remain open or if they will be shut down again.

I've been to HK hundreds of times and only rarely see guys there with their ladies. Surely when you have been there, you've seen guys who were alone? Yeah, some guys come in groups, or with a buddy, but probably 50% of the guys are there alone. What makes you feel unsafe? Why would it be safer to go there with a lady friend versus on your own?

It's American-style so not affiliated with a hotel. You could probably get a girl's number and meet her outside of work, but you aren't going to bang her there. If you are looking for a standard American-style strip club, go for it, but you might as well just stay in San Diego at that point. If you are just going to watch, like you mentioned above, I guess it would be OK. Certainly a lot easier to get to being right next to the border. And if you are driving across they have better / safer parking.
