Didn't go to HK / Cascadas though. I posted my report on the ISG board in their specific forums, but here's a general report:

Saturday.

Arrived in San Diego around noon and headed to the border. Changed some cash to pesos and readied my printout of the FMM and my photocopied passport (my actual passport was in process of being renewed). I was prepared to pay the $30 that many "non-essential visitors" have had to pay to receive the 180-day FMM.

I wasn't prepared for the border agent to tear up the FMM and tell me that I couldn't enter Mexico at all without a passport. He brought me into a room and asked the purpose of my visit, where I worked, how long I was planning to stay, where I was planning to stay. Then he asked me the same questions again. And again. Finally he said "Since you are a professional traveling for legitimate reasons, I will let you in. There is no fee to enter Mexico, but you must give me a tip. " I asked how much was expected and he just spread his hands and shrugged. I handed him 400 pesos ($20), which he put in a drawer. He said "Welcome to Mexico" and sent me on my way.

I walked over to Pueblo Amigo and checked in around 3:00. I had a Seeking date arranged for 6:00 and she showed up right on time. Came straight to my room. I asked if she was interested in going out to dinner or to a club or something but she said no, she had plans with friends (remember this was Saturday night). So we got right down to business -- it was basically like ordering an escort. It has the advantage of not being a fixed price per hour, but there's some overhead as far as planning and arranging. You can get a wallet size I'd card that looks like a driver's license and you will be able to get into the Ready Lanes. But honestly so many people have them now a lot of times it's not much better. The 3rd option is Sentry. It's the fastest but you have be interviewed and pay something like $100 a year, it might be more now. Unless you go to Tj often I'm not sure its worth it. And you can't have anyone else in your vehicle that doesn't have Sentry. Walking across used to be faster but with covid I've waited in line for hours too.

My brother has the regular Global Entry card and has the same benefits as SENTRI. I don't think there's any difference in these cards except it costs an extra $25 application fee as Global Entry.

Border crossing experts. Is there any difference in these cards. Any benefit having SENTRI over Global Entry?
