When I visited Huntsville AL in the mid 80s, "tanning" was where the scene was. Of course they also had signs boasting "All Girl Staff" so out-of-towners like me would catch on.

In some areas, the industry has coped with crackdowns on AMPs by going to "tanning" parlors. In others, the conceit has been "Aroma Therapy." So some brave and enterprising folks will manage to stay in the game through such strategies. However you then have parts of the country where you just can't get any kind of healing touch from a nice young (or not so young) Asian girl at all. I happen to live in such a blighted area and I'm forced to drive over two hundred miles (with gas at $4.00/gallon) just to satisfy a natural need.

I feel for you Lex. I do most of my AMP hunting out of town. Spartanburg or Santee usually. Gas prices have slowed me down a little bit. This new AMP or whetever it is will be less than three miles from my home. I'll probably TOFTT if and when it opens. But, my preference is out of town hunting, if only for the possibilty of arrest. My name and picture won't be in the local hometown newspaper or TV station. Hopefully.

To be honest, we're lucky we even have an AMP scene here, though it may be a bit lacking compared to some places I've been; in light of that fact I suppose it could be worse (I'm looking at you, Augusta and Savannah).
In an ironic way the situation here actually sort of works out: it's been said that AMP's like to operate under the community radar (hence the generic, non-descript strip mall locales and the aversion to even being mentioned on the 'net) and I suppose that, if too many of them were to proliferate in a semi-sleepy, mid-sized town like Columbia, they would likely start drawing the attention of the community-at-large; this, in turn, will start gaining them all kinds of unwanted attention from Uncle Leo (and we all know what happens after that).
IOW, it seems to me that one of the ways that most AMPs stay relatively unmolested is to not necessarily be on every street corner in town. Anyone who runs an AMP will likely tell you that the [i]last[/i] thing they want is to be the [i]first[/i] thing everyone notices about the area in which they operate. I guess it's a classic example of "out of sight, out of mind".

Despite the heat from LE, it never ceases to amaze me how many K-girls get into the business. In various iterations, AMPs are all over. Services vary, but in my neck of the woods, I think LE tolerates them for a time so long as they do not become outright you know whats. For a certain economic class of K-girls, the opportunity to make good money, lie around, watch K-videos all day is better than any other jobs they realisitically can get and hold. Most don't like the job, but can do little else. Usually, her English not to good, trouble reading, and abused by some soldier husband who brings them home and then leaves them on their own. Am I a cynic? IMHO.

Yesterday I went to visit my favorites at New Energy and was surprised to see a Deputy Sheriff SUV parked in the back. A few minutes later it was gone and I went in. He may have been there to check out the place next door, which continues to have a lot of traffic and hangers on, for who knows what kind of business.
It was not too busy at NE and all hands were on deck. I enjoyed a wonderful steam bath (too hot yesterday to enjoy the heat however), table shower, and great massage with a delightful finish.
After seeing the LE vehicle I almost went around the corner to Best Massage Therapy, which appeared not to be busy. I'm glad I stuck w my favorite.

Aloha Spirit was a decent place right when they opened, but as everyone knows, it just suddenly closed for no apparent reason. Still, everyday when I drive by iy, I glance over to see if their neon sign is lit again.

Quoted for truth. They did indeed get too greedy for their own good and ended up scaring away business. The ironic part about it is, if they'd continued to operate in exactly the same manner as when they first opened, they would have given 4S a run for their money. Instead they tried to go the same route as 4S and ended up playing themselves right out of the game.

Not that I have anything against agencies; but, when a girl advertises herself as a "non-pro" (like the one in your ad), but shares the same digits as several others (again, [i]usually[/i] a dead giveaway indicating an agency or pimp), you might want to ask yourself "what else is she hiding?"

I must have seen the same ad on CL that you did. Yes, the lineup on the website looks impressive, but I was instantly turned off by the fact it was an agency.
