For example, say the motel has callerID. The cops trace the number back to you. Then, they check nearby surveillance cameras, run plates, and get a hit with yours. Suddenly, the cops are showing up at your door asking questions and the spotlight is on 'you'. Maybe you're smart enough to keep your mouth shut and avoid being charged, but if there's anyone else at home, would likely be a messy situation, and all because you thought you could exact retaliation for being stood up by using the cops.

I will come out and say I never contacted hotel management, nor did I ever have any real intention to. Like Adim said, I was letting off steam. I never had her rm #, or any of her cronies room number. I was hoping that her business would suffer because of the inconvenience which I experienced, and she would lose customers.
