You are absolutely right about Rio and their delusions of grandeur. I have been to Starz and KH8, and again your analysis is dead on. However, the ghetto-ness of all those places can be off-putting to your average suburban hobbyist.

The thing that I really had trouble with Dominique was that she told me in no uncertain terms that the club played full songs now, so "you will get 2 full songs per dance." Since I was the only patron in the club, the first 10-12 minutes I was there, I did notice that they played full songs. But (a very big BUT and I am not a fan of big BUTS. Sorry) , when we were back in the couch area and the dance started, they reverted back to abbreviated songs and I am sure our dance took less than 4 minutes. The dance was fine BUT it was the fact that I was lied to that is leaving a very bad taste in my mouth.

For all you hobbyists who want great value for $40, go instead to Paradise in the City of Industry. I hope club owners and managers read this forum and realize that we patrons are sick and tired of the BS they put us through. It is not like there is a booming economy and we have mucho dolares to throw around. We club patrons will vote with our wallets and you BS merchants will suffer. Nobody is going to attend the funeral of your businesses.

As an alternative, I could have gone over to King Henry VIII and gotten three bikini lapdances for $45, full songs. Now of course nude is better than bikini, BUT the girls at KH8 do realize they work in a ghetto strip club they the majority of them act accordingly in the booths and the booths in the far ends don't have cameras staring you in the face.

As with everything in life its a trade off.

*Prettier Dancers: Rio.

Average dancer at Rio, about a 8.

*Ethnic Diversity of Dancers: Rio

If you don't like black girls there is no point of coming to King Henry, they usually try to have one token white girl, or light skinned black girl who could pass as white, but not always.

*Dance Prices: KH8.

Its a straight $15 at KH8. Full songs, no bullshit. The Rio "specials" arent that special when they only play half the song.

*Dance Performance: It depends on what you want ("sometimes you feel like a nut (literally) , sometimes you don't").

You can have a dance in a public area at Rio (or at least you could when I was last there which is kinda kinky sometimes) , but there will be cameras there and also in the "private" area. At KH8, you get dances in a cramped booth. But, the booths on the ends have no cameras and the booth on the near end is very dark ("what happens in Vegas, STAYS in Vegas!").

*Music: It depends on what you want.

Personally, I'm a Motley Crue, Guns N Roses, Godsmack kind of guy so I like Rio better as far as music goes. If you can't stand rap, particularly "gangsta rap", then there is no point of you going to KH8 because that's all they play. Believe me, I have tried to get some Motley Crue in Kh8, it ain't happened yet. However, let me say this, even though KH8 is a ghetto club which plays gangsta rap, it's not really "like that". You are not going to get shot in KH8 and there's not going to be a bunch of thugs hanging out in the club. At least a 25% of the guys in KH8 will be older white guys. (Now, if you DO want a chance of being shot and thugs hanging out in the club, then I would suggest "Charlies" on Florence near 8th Avenue.)

*Drinks: KH8.

KH8 has a full alcohol bar. Rio has soft drinks. 'Nuff said.

Now, as an alternative to KH8, you can go to Starz right down the street. The difference is, at Starz you can always get topless stage dancing, but also get nude stage dancing upstairs after 7:00, you get to fully inspect the merchandise before you buy it. Problem is with most clubs, you'll be the only one there. The less-managed clubs will not push anyone to dance for just one guy. So you'll sit there, sucking on your non-alcoholic drink watching the girls hang out and talk among themselves or with staff. (my most recent Jet Strip experience)

Get a lunchtime party of 3 or more guys, and they'll likely pay attention. I'm up for it, let me know.

KH8 should be open at lunchtime. Haven't been there for a while. Last time was leaving, crossing the street to the parking lot and a car came by, window rolled down and hear "you don't belong here white boy" Wasn't going to argue the point. Never had a problem in the club. Just be aware.

Went to Déjà Vu on Hollywood Blvd last night (Thursday) got there about midnight & there was a great number of good looking girls. $20 cover to get in.

Then had two VIP dances. One with a incredibly hot girl from Colombia who once we were in the VIP area asked if I wanted to fuck her! Declined cause it was going to cost me $2. But she still got my pants undone and pulled jnr out to give him some direct attention! She was hot as fuck.

Second girl was a busty Asian chick who was lovely & sweet, but mileage was nowhere near as exciting.

Going to go back for some more Colombian loving this weekend.

I showed up there at noon last year to watch the early NFL games and yeah, I was the only guy there and no dancers started to dance until about 12:30, maybe later.

However, there were two girls there, one had a drink with me and she gave me the old "strip club handshake" (bka "through the pants handjob") under the bar as we drank to try to entice me into a dance.

KH8 isn't the greatest club I've ever been in, there is one thing I've always liked about it. For as long as I can remember, whenever I go in there and buy girl a drink for a girl I've never bought one for before, that at least 50% of the time, first I feel that girl's hand rest on my lap, then about a minute later her hand has found its way to my crotch and commences with the strip club handshake trying to convince me to get a lapdance from her. Now of course one girl I know and have been to the booths with several times, she sometimes doesn't even let the zipper stop her in her mission to sell me that dance! There's nothing wrong with being at the club at 3:30 in the afternoon, watching a girl in a bikini doing a spread eagle on the stage to some gangsta rap, sipping on one of Sweeneys strong drinks, taking a peek at the NFL halftime highlights, all while another stripper has "taken matters into her own hand" in trying to convince me to take her to the back where she can really give me a proper working over. I will be visiting your fine city this weekend for the first time ever. I will be in San Diego on business but will have a lot of down time during the afternoons. So much so that I am willing to take the 2 hour hike from SD to LA.

I was wondering what is a good strip club to visit. Preferably serves alcohol and opened earlier in the day. Have been told to just go to Hollywood but don't want to end up at the wrong place.

Thanks for any help. If anyone is in Chicago and looking for places let me know.

BTW is SD to LA really only 2 hours? I hear traffic is brutal.

Welcome to Socal, not much wind here, LOL. Your best bet would be COI (city of industry) east of L. A. There are a few clubs that offer plenty of fun. Check their thread under city of industry and you'd be good to go.

As far as driving time from SD to LA, it all depends on the time of day. If you drive it anywhere around morning you are likely to hit spots with lots of traffic so it might take you over 2 hours. Check out the Sigalert web page or your smartphone for up to the minute traffic info.
