Sunday at Noon Harbor Spa
I can only laugh at myself and the scene of which I was a part last Sunday around noon I went to check out Harbor Spa. The parking lot is out of control! For starters, Cafe 168 is right next door, so there is lots of action there. Add to it the McDonald's drive through right across the way and then the auto parts store and the Mexican restaurant on the other side. Noon on a Sunday.
Every parking stall was occupied and there were cars coming and going. And mongers. Oh the mongers and testosterone! All of them walking very straight with eyes fixed on the doors of 168. It was like that Living Dead show. The high noon sun beat down and the mongers kept coming and going. A homeless / mentally ill dude was flopping around the entrance to the spa. The testosterone in that parking lot was overpowering!
This was all too much for me and it was my mistake going at that time and day of the week. I started laughing to myself in the car. My usual vibe is to go somewhere mid-week and at a strange hour, like 10 am, 2:30 pm or 8 pm. Later is better. I also sit in my car for a bit, just to check out the scene outside before striking. This parking lot was so out of control, like I said, I just started laughing.
Perhaps I've found a new aspect to the hobby: parking lot monger watching.
Fair in Costa mesa all shut down now?
I went Monday to check it out and none of the shops were open? Does anyone know what happened and when?
Thanks.
