Then I'm instructed to go to the elevators and at this point I know I'm being scammed because you cannot access the elevators without a card swipe. I call the number but no answer. Big surprise! At this point I text saying no one is in the lobby and I'm not waiting around as I've already wasted my time driving here like an idiot. I then get a text. My roommate is leaving. He will meet you in the lobby. Give him the donation and he will let you on the elevator and give you the apartment number! SCAM!! I said Oh sure I'll gladly give cash to your pimp and be sent on a wild goose chase to some random apartment where no one will answer and the guy just goes up a different elevator to a different floor with my money. Nothing I can do but leave like an idiot. Fortunately I did not wait for some douche bag to show up although I thought about waiting and then kicking the guy in the balls and doing something real nasty but it could of been some huge punk and could get me arrested so I left tail between my legs. I answered an ad on Craigslist (this was after the Erotic Services section was taken down but before the whole personals section was eliminated) and was directed to incall at the woman's apartment. It was a large apartment building, a former factory or mill -- multiple floors, interior doors to each apartment.

So in my situation, I arrive, text to let the girl know I'm there, she directs me to a door. We sit on the steps outside and chat a bit. After a short time I agree to go inside. She says she needs the money ($70) first, but after talking, I'm feeling pretty comfortable with her, so I do it. Then she says she needs to make a call to get her roommate to take her kid and leave for a bit. Here is where I should have seen more red flags, but her side of the conversation sounded entirely legit.

So we go in and head toward the stairs. She is leading, as I don't know where I'm going. As she heads up the stairs, a couple guys (tenants, neighbors) are coming down the stairs, and they talk to her like they know her:

Guy: Hey, is that your car parked in front of the dumpster? The building manager said he's going to tow it if it's not moved in an hour.

Girl: Blah, blah, something, blah.

Guy: Blah, blah, whatever.

By this time, the pattern of us all on the stairs has shifted, she's highest up the stairs, there's a guy in between us, then me, then the other dude down lower. After the quick (fake) convo, girl keeps heading up the stairs and the guy blocks me from following her. At this instant I realize they're all working together. Outnumbered and not wanting a scene, I let the money go. After splitting their profits, they each got $23.33. Their little scam kept them in crack for the next 15 minutes. I hope they all died of an overdose.

So after this experience, realizing it could have gone even worse, I almost never do incalls. The power dynamic is way too far in their favor. This means I hobby a lot less, but that's the way it is. My opsec is way more important than getting into a situation I haven't vetted.

I haven't seen anyone since COVID started as I'm sure these girls aren't even thinking about social distancing anywhere in their lives and there's no way to do this hobby safely, IMO. I'd hate to give Corona to a family member because I was stupid. But I continue to read the forums and I'm seeing a lot more scams all over the place. STG is overrun with scam ads, both the obvious ones (just go to this site and verify your age with your credit card. It's for both our safety, baby!) and the outright criminal ones (robbery at gunpoint) and everything in between. Same is true for Seeking. The scene out there is shit at the moment, and it seems like the girls who want to make a legit trade are outnumbered by the criminals.

Anyway, yeah, calling the cops seems like a dumb idea. You're basically admitting to a crime (intent to solicit, at the very least), and in today's social environment if the girl changes the story totally (he punched me and raped me, officer!) you know you're totally fucked, as a man. I'd caution that you even have to be super careful with the "anonymous tip line" way of reporting. If you call, you know they have caller I'd, even though it's an "anonymous tip line". If you use your regular phone they know who you are, and if you use your burner you'd better make sure it's damn tight. Same with using the web page. You think that it's truly anonymous just because it says it is? Hell, no -- they are undoubtedly capturing all sorts of info about your web session, starting with your IP address and ending. I don't even know where. I wouldn't report over the web unless I was connected to the internet in a Starbucks or McDonalds in a town far from where I lived, while using a good (paid) VPN to place me in a totally different city, or TOR browser or similar.

Always always demand a verification pic before seeing someone! (No exceptions!

1) Ask for a specific pose and make sure it doesn't take more than a couple of minutes otherwise you run a good chance it's being faked – sooooo many ways to do that given time. (I can't count the number of times I've run into that – and passed- only to find out later via this forum (or others) that the ad was a scam of some kind.

If she doesn't do the pose you requested or takes longer than a couple of minutes (seriously, how long does it take to snap a pic and send it? – Walk.

3) Do not 'discuss' any particulars / details until after you've gotten your verification pic and are confident it's valid.

I personally will not see a provider without a topless verification pic w / face. While not a certainty, it's unlikely LEO will send topless pics of a girl partaking in a sting unless they have time to fake one (remember – you're asking for the pose to ensure the pic was just taken). I've also found that girls running a scam are also unlikely to do one as they don't want that type of pic out there after they've scammed you / stolen your $$.

Getting busted, robbed, mugged, whatever – there are ways to minimize that risk, it just means having to stick to your guns and likely pass on some that may be legit.

If these girls want your patronage, then they need to go the extra mile to verify they are who / what they're representing themselves to be on their ad. If they're unwilling to consider your safety, then they shouldn't be worth your time.

I've been hobbying for 15 years (shameless I know) – never been busted and with a few rare exceptions, have avoided being ripped off.

One last thing – your intuition is your best friend, if something seems amiss / off, listen to your instincts!
