I can't be certain in this case, but I know that when applying for real estate / zoning permits, it helps to have other things for sale. So it is not just a massage parlor, but rather a salon. You see some nail salons that offer massage and some massage places that do nails. Also when setting up a place, the basic business strategy is to find multiple revenue streams to cover your rent. Overhead. As far as I know, one can not offer such services unless the provider is licensed. But they also don't pay the "waxing girl". They split the sales or get a commission. Getting waxed does not sound like much fun, though, taking one for the team seems beyond the call of duty. Bob.

It makes complete sense that the businesses would carry license to provide multiple services. However, I'm not sure if that also mean that the service providers are certified in their respective areas. For example, I read online that Foot Spas are gaining in popularity because apparently they don't need to meet the stringent criteria for hiring massage technicians as in case of specialized full-body massage services. I agree I wouldn't want to risk my privates to get a Brazilian waxing done at a local AMP but I might be ok to try out just waxing the back! LOL.
