The LA metro system isn't as good as Chicago's L / bus combo but from Downtown LA you have a metro hub (akin to being the Loop) that can get you to Pasadena or East LA. But I don't know how close any spots are to the metro stops and I have not visited any spots in those areas personally.

Anyhow, I was labeled a time waster for texting and not making an appointment, not sending a picture, saying I would not send a deposit because I am an employee at venmo, not sending a picture. These high traffic places have to be averaging dozens and dozens of clients per day. Conservatively, if they average just 30 clients per day, that's already $50 x30 x30 = $45,000/ month just from the house fees. And they probably take a portion of the tips on top of that.
