Ground rules regarding photos
I have been disappointed by some of the ladies using old photos. When I say "old", I'm talking about YEARS. I understand that you feel the need to present yourself in the best light, but come on now. The lengths some go through just to shave a few extra years is just getting ridiculous. We see photos of someone approaching 30, and someone closer to 40 opens the door.
How about we set some groundrules? How about no photo older than a year is to be used on posts or websites, and if your weight fluctuates +- 20 pounds, you take new photos.
I really don't care if the photos are professional grade, or if they were taken with a cell phone. What's important is that the person we're expecting to meet, is the same person that actually shows up.
After all, ladies, what if you were expecting a date with Benjamin Franklin, but someone who looks like Ulysses Grant or Thomas Jefferson shows up? Wouldn't you be disappointed or mad too?
Google Voice is another option
I can't afford 2 phones and I don't have a personal one bc I hate the phone and this one just sucks. I'm getting a new one after Christmas. But that's not the point, the point is if an ad says do not text its not there for fun it means DO NOT DO IT. ITS NOT THAT HARD! Ya follow me here? If it says no greek it would be like calling and asking for it anyway.
If you're getting a new phone, and a new number, after Christmas, I suggest you also set up a new gmail account, and a new Google Voice number to go along with it, especially if it's a smart phone, like an iPhone or Android one. It's not quite as flexible on a dumb phone, but if you have a computer (and if you're posting here, you likely have at least common access to a smart phone or computer) then it's still pretty useful. There's an app for both iPhone and Android that makes using it even simpler.
In fact, you can set up Google Voice so that it rings your old sucky phone, and manage it from the other one, or the computer.
You can turn texts off entirely, restrict calls and texts to certain days and hours, group callers so that some ring your phone directly when they call, some go straight to voicemail, while still others have to announce their name before ringing through, and best of all, you can block numbers so that they get a "not a working number" message when they call, and you never even have to know they called. The "Do not disturb" feature basically sends everybody to voicemail for a specified period of time, or until U-turn it off.
A very useful service, even for those outside the hobby.
/z.
Um, I am not affiliated with Google. (:
