Waiters in restaurants can copy the numbers, AMP's too. Just about anyone who takes your card out of your sight to run it can steal the numbers. Online websites, even legitimate online businesses have problems with fraud and stolen card numbers.
When it happens to you the only fix is to get another card with new numbers.
Go to your bank's card website and setup alerts so you know when and where your card is being used. You can get alerts for every transaction or just certain ones over a dollar amout or out of the country.

It's bad enough how LE is towards grown adults, even worse when it comes to that kind of thing. If this is the Lexi I think you are referring to that retired 2-3 years back, I unfortunately was never able to reach her. I don't recall her posting for very long or if she did I somehow missed them. While it may be safe to assume we all have an interest in the "hobby", that is probably the only thing that could be safely assumed across the board among all of us. Beyond that, there may be differences between political party affiliations, religious views, etc. Of which it would probably be best just to avoid getting into that as much as possible, but I like the link. And I particularly like the comment that the Brennan person left on that website.
