SO. Just FYI FOR THE MASSES THAT HAVE LISTENED TO THE WRONG WORDS
"Believing that all members of a race share the same characteristics is the definition of racism"
Denying that these providers are racist because they have a reason for their racism makes you sound ignorant and racist.
Not to make you sound ignorant and racist but. NO! What you defined is STEREOTYPING Which is exactly what you are doing in your post, stereotyping any provider that refuses to serve AA males as a racist.
AND USING THE WRONG DEFINITIONS to do it! JEEZE.
Rac·ism -The belief that a particular race is superior to another. -having or showing the belief that a particular race is superior to another.
Pretty simple, Please read and understand those words. It is not racist to refuse service to another race, it is RACIST to refuse service because you think your RACE is superior to the race you refuse service to.
And since the last sentence in your post was.
"That said, why does anyone give a shit if the providers are racist? On average, the providers are some of the dumbest, least educated, least skilled, least influential, and most powerless members of society. They are almost all habitually addicted to drugs. They make their living (such as it is) through criminal activity.
We can assume, though you don't meet the criteria for being a racist yourself (at least not in this thread), you are certainly coming off as bigoted and very willing to stereotype when it suits you.
BIGOTED. Having or revealing an obstinate belief in the superiority of one's own opinions and a prejudiced intolerance of the opinions of others.
YOU WERE MAKING A POINT, I agree, BUT USING THE WRONG WORDS AND DEFINITIONS TO DO IT. YOU WERE CLOSE BUT DIDN'T EVER QUITE MAKE IT.
THE GIRLS ON BACKPAGE ARE RACIAL PROFILING! See, they are racially profiling the AA men by making the assumption THAT since some AA men, boys really, ARE THUGGISH and a real risk to their personal safety, probably MOST are. So now. At least you know what to call it when you complain about it.
And. NO I don't agree with racial profiling any more than I can stand a bigot or a racist. But I also don't blame someone / ANYONE for putting their personal safety ABOVE any concern they may have about a desperate group of MONGERS (US! Whining and crying about their "racist" ads on backpage.
RANT OFF.
I haven't heard anyone say that the providers don't have the right to sell it (or not sell it) to whoever they choose. So the real controversy here is whether it's "racist" for them to advertise that they will not see AA men. OF COURSE IT IS. The providers are saying in essence that for whatever reason -- whether because they were ripped off or beaten by an AA man or because they grew up with parents who wore white hoods on the weekend -- they believe all AA men are cheap, dangerous, or whatever. Believing that all members of a race share the same characteistics is the definition of racism regardless of WHY you believe that. Denying that these providers are racist because they have a reason for their racism makes you sound ignorant and racist.
That said, why does anyone give a shit if the providers are racist? On average, the providers are some of the dumbest, least educated, least skilled, least influential, and most powerless members of society. They are almost all habitually addicted to drugs. They make their living (such as it is) through criminal activity. It makes you sound petty and race-obsessed to complain about the stupid attitudes and biases of such people.
I know I'm beating a dead horse but,
I have seen ads by AA women which say "no white men", and others also by AA women which say "no AA men". Very few of these ads, however.
