Funny how the prosecutor was willing to drop all of the rape charges against working girls in exchange for guilty plea on the 15 year old girl.
Same double standard is in effect. And LE wonders why the providers are so reluctant to work with them. At least the providers helped get this guy off the streets.

This was basicly a one hour attack on Backpage. She even placed ads on backpage and pretended to be a provider. She then played the conversations on T. V.
Don't be surprised if they close down the adult sections on Backpage next.

Look at escorts. Com, the government harassed them into changing that site into what it is now. BP will be forced into capitulation by threats, public opinion (manipulated by the government and the media) , and lawyers' fees. As always, just my opinion.
Anyone watch this week's episode? It had Lilly's bust from back in November when she did the run for Naughty Bodies. That bust, and the media report, actually made her quit the "business".

Actually, I find the show quite good. Both in showing the cops in a good light and certainly our city in a good light. Now, as for the hobby, well, it gets pushed more and more from the people who think someone else is having fun but also from those places where it really has become as bad as the dope dealers. I guess I can see both side, but the solo escorts who keep it good, clean and give us a great bang for the buck, well, I think there are a lot worse people in the world and we need more like them. I do try to support those who are good and want to be here myself, as I think most of the real people here.

She likes for me to put the places into context since she's not a native Cincinnatian and I actually lived down on McMicken for years (many moons ago during college) , so I'm always running commentary on this or that is happening here or there on the show.

Ez[/QUOTE]Ez from what I understand it isn't pretty. They will arrest you. Not cite and release. A couple years back had a john. Brought into the ER with some injuries by the police. No the police did not injure him. He was under arrest. He told me as I was checking him out that he of course had been arrested and they impounded his vehicle, possibility he'd not get it back.
I had also read when they were cracking down then that impound and seizure could happen. I think if you follow the rules that some of the senior members have here and use your head don't be overcome with desire so to speak you should be ok.

She was charged with solicitating, sex business and license of massage practitioner.
All charges were dismissed 2/14/11. Could be that she had a good lawyer, as both defendent and the state placed demands for discovery, or could be that she is being very cooperative.

Think about it; how much caution does an arrest like this instill in everyone if it is a quiet arrest, versus one with all that the fanfare that this created on national TV. Besides, in order for them to convict they would have to blow the cover of the informant in the house, and it may not be worth that either. I think it is much more about mileage, rather than putting this gal away for a few months at the JC; and too maybe she is informing. Always a possibility too.

What charges could a john be presented when a female advertising massage is not licensed? I do not know of any state in which a massage license, such as for food sales or liquor sales or medical license. Must be displayed for public viewing. In other words when does a consumer become responsible for mandating demonstration of a license. I doubt never but a light touch specialist with out a state license could be charged engaging the act of illicit behavior at any time by definition. Advertising as nontherapeutic becomes as stated and has no invoked guidelines under revised code.

The SW that I spoke to got 30 for her mug being used on the show. I was curious whether TLC makes use of a flat rate of payment and that was all that Lilly got out of it or if the show employs both a street walker and an escort scale?

Discovery Channel pays the gal; Cincy PD provides the transport to the crossbar hotel.
Whether they agreed to payment or not has no bearing on whether they get arrested. There would be some very wrong legal issue if there was inducement (payment) which meant they weren't arrested. Kind of like a bribe for alterior motives. Would create some legal issues for the city is there were the case.

[/QUOTE]It's not much different than COPS. 99% of the people getting arrested have their faces shown, but every now and then the 1% who don't sign the waiver have their faces blurred during the arrest. I haven't seen that on this show, but maybe TLC just doesn't include the arrests of anyone who doesn't sign the waiver. They probably have tons more footage than they actually incorporate into the show. One other possiblility is that although signing the waiver cannot legally be used as an inducement, that doesn't mean that it isn't being suggested that "cooperating" might not help their situation and get the officer to put in a good word with the judge.
And let's be honest, one more arrest really isn't that big of a deal for most of these folks. Signing the waiver means they can get the friends and family together to say "Hey, I'm going to be on TV!" As for the specific situation on Lilly, I think everyone in her personal life already found out when it was on the local news, which prompted her fake "Lilly killed herself" message sent out shortly after the bust.

I'd think he would have better legal representation than most of the other subjects featured on the show. Apparently not good enough to keep him off of the show entirely though.

I haven't seen any cases where the perps have had their faces blotted out though. Maybe they all signed releases because it was worth the money, though it seems pretty dumb to me. In Lilly's case, it was all over the news when it happened, so she was pretty recognizable, particularly to mongers who had seen her ads. Maybe she decided it was already so out there, so why not get some additional cash?
My favorite was the kids from Kentucky on the scooter going through Over the Rhine with the license plate they wrote on cardboard and a flashlight strapped to the front. They had to walk their scooter back over the bridge. It was truly an act of mercy by the cops, because I'm trying to imagine what would have ended up happening to them if they kept wandering around OTR close to dusk in that state of stupidity.
