Discretion might be better than eloquence sometimes
Right after the date she wanted me to drop her off at Tioga and I. I have dropped off at least one other SW on that corner, so I am assuming there is a drug house or dealer in the vicinity. What she is on, I have no idea.
Supereloquent - I admire, for the most part, your heavy activity and reporting. However, not to be overly critical, but you've already disclosed the name and location of an individual who provides short-term accommodations to mongers and their finds, and now identifying a corner where a high degree of activity occurs and where a lot of local SW's frequent.
This level of specificity isn't always smart, since although LE is pretty hip to most active corners, they have also been known to monitor this board and step up their activity based on info provided in it. This, in turn, leads to a greater likelihood that our favorite SWers will be pinched in a raid and disappear off the Ave for accommodations on State Road.
A little careful thought as to the level of specificity of info in your reports might be a good thing - one guy named Dennis is already feeling the heat your reports have generated. Just a suggestion - helpful info is cool, inadvertently ruining people's lives isn't.
Throwing Stones from a Glass House?
I agree whole heartedly. It's the reason I seldom post here and mostly lurk.
Things are quite different in my neck of the woods than they are on the K, and you wont see me on the K unless I have a good reason to be there other than mongering.
I spent alot of time up there in the 80's and got busted once but LE let me slide. It was different back then.
Also from CookyJar (partial from his long post): "You don’t seem remorseful. You owe him an Apology.
Believe me; I am not trying to be rude. I do want you to realize that what you did was a no, no. And worst, it wasn’t necessary. The street is not that big. At least the section near the “K,” isn’t. Certainly his neighbors and family can make the connection. Putting together two and two isn’t that hard."
Firstly, CuriousJoe: You say you seldom post here and mostly "lurk"; in other words you you are not too much on sharing information but prefer to leech off the information provided by others and not too shy to throw a big verbal rock even though you ADMIT that you haven't spent much time on the K since the 80s! So what wakes up your ire NOW? I bet you were one of the guys that piled on when playing football.
I apologized about this already but apparently you and CookyJar think it wasn't enough and can't let it go at that so let's air it out.
The big fuss is about a guy who provides an indoor place, but SWs are fair game? What kind of hypocrisy is that? The issues are specifics like names and streets so why don't we apply the same rules to SWs for THEIR protection?: no mention of names (including SWs, who sometimes use their real names although aliases are no less real). While we are at it let's not mention streets or street corners or places like bars and restaurants and stores. And what could be more SPECIFIC than photos? All of these very specific things are MUCH more damning than my vague reference.
If I owe the person in question an apology, CookyJar, then you owe every SW an apology you ever photographed whether they gave permission or not. You say that they agreed to be photographed (AND prominently posted on line?; I have met very few SWs who owned a computer or had much of a concept of this or any other website for that matter). You took advantage of their distress and ignorance no matter how you look at it and I highly doubt most of them realized the full implications their "specific" notoriety might bring them, not the least of which could be LE notoriety. Also, are their families and neighbors any less important? Or don't the desperately drug addicted count?
Yes, it was not good form to post a name and a street and apparently I hit a nerve with some mongers on this one. And I stated my apology already. But others should know better regarding what people in glass houses should not do.
Right, Wrong and Areas of Gray
It looks like Supereloquent went out and got himself a law degree. Now, if he had just purchased it from some reputable place other than K-Mart, he might be onto something.
This much is true, gossip like this may increase LE's interest in individual people. That may cause LE to follow people around in the event they actually see something illegal going on. Then they know who, where, and when because they saw it.
Look. This subforum was created so CJ could get away from all the born haters and just do his job. CJ is a great would-be professional photographer and author. CJ's been doing this long enough to know what he's doing. Please leave him alone, or better, be supportive.
I am not a "hater." I have been and am a CJ supporter. All you have to do is read my posts to determine that (and apparently you haven't). But if he is going to get in my face about something for which I have apologized and for which he and others here are far bigger offenders, then I am going to respond. How many mongers on here have referenced a certain corner of a certain store with lucky numbers, or a certain subway station stop beginning with the letter "H," or particular corners on K where particular SWs hang out and when, or particular streets off K beginning with "C" and "S" and "O" and "L, " to name just a very few. If you bothered to read this whole thread my point has been merely that I provided no more or less information than those references (when spelled out, of course, which they are all the time in this forum), so why was I being singled out for a special trip to the woodshed (pun intended). I am not going to lie back and say, "Oh, it's CJ, he is above criticism and can say anything he likes." Just because you like his photo effort doesn't make him right. And just because I disagree with the harshness of something he had to say doesn't make me wrong. Nor does it make me unsupportive or unappreciative or disagreeable. I didn't throw the first rocks here. But I do have a point of view. Disagree with my point of view if you will. But don't be adolescent and make personal attacks like you were still on the playground.

It still seems like you are trying to defend a bad decision. Fine! If it make you feel better, so be it. But don’t tie what I do, with what you did. It’s apples and oranges – they are both fruits, they are not the same thing. They both may be wrong, but they are still not the same thing. I may live in a glass house, but I was not throwing stones, I know better. However; I was trying to protect myself (and my house).
Just be careful. Use a little more discretion.

Re: A rose by any other name
They don't care to get into it with CookyJar and his cronies…
So be it. Post whatever you like. None of this matters anyway. As far as you are concerned, you are spot on point. Maybe you are. Who the hell am I to say, one way or another? I just hate the fact that you messed up a good thing for me; and for no justifiable reason.
I speak for myself.
Is CookyJar the final word on this just because he takes a lot of pictures?
No! I am not. Never said I was.
CookyJar
PS: That’s my final, final word on this subject.

The Incredible Strawberry Blond Sarah
There was a suspicion (at least in my own mind) that the "incredible red-headed Sarah" and another gal named Sarah were two different people. I have cleared up the controversy on film. Here is a pic comparison of the "incredible red-headed Sarah," (link to pic taken by someone else) and my recent photo of the gal I have called "the incredible strawberry blond Sarah," (she is actually more blondish than reddish so maybe calling her "blond Sarah" would be more accurate and distinctive). Both are named Sarah and usually hang out at the the same "H" stop, but they are obviously different people with different faces and shades of hair.
I won't go into details on our date as I have reviewed both before and Trashed201 gave a recent update. Suffice it to say that the experience was excellent, as usual.

More pics from the Carlysle
I know it sucks (and not in a good way) to not have a full face and eyes in a BJ pic, but half a pic is better than none? Here are some more selected pics from the Carlysle. Having promised anonymity, I won't say who they are or when they were taken.
