I've seen some activity in Greensboro and Charlotte that seems somewhat organized, but aside from that it's just two bit thugs trying to essentially steal someone else's earnings through violence and intimidation to support their own drug habit or living situation.

One time a girl told me not to be worried about the dealers, why? Because the dealers know not to rob rich cars driving through their neighborhood and the reason is because they know that those cars are either 1 buying drugs from them 2 picking up girls, that in turn give them the money we give to them. And 3 that car could be rolling through and any of those things could bring the heat on them. An example from high point. I drove around one time looking for blonde Ashley and couldn't find her. Knocked on a door I saw her at before, they told me they had not seen her. But to check other places she has been known to hang out. They then asked if I wanted to see another white girl and brought her out. She wasn't what I wanted so I left but they tried to see if I wanted any other girl they had. I have heard of these small town dealers who have had multiple drug addictions becoming crazy towards the girl and beating them daily and the girls come back because they deal to them and they are one of a few dealers they know and trust.
