If I were betting though, it's probably a scammer who then blackmails / extorts the sicko over text.

Between Nov. 12 and Nov. 15, officers and agents posed as children and traffickers, arranging to meet men who solicited the agents for sex at various locations in Wake Forest.

The arrests were made by the Wake Forest Police Department and the Wake County Sheriff's Office.

Homeland Security Investigations, the State Bureau of Investigation, the Cary Police Department, the Harnett County Sherriff's Office, the Wake County District Attorney's Office and the USA Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of NC also assisted in the operation.

The Wake Forest Police Department said child sex and human trafficking crimes are on the rise and urged parents to be vigilant, speaking with their children and monitoring their behavior online and offline.

I have zero problem arresting those guys of course, but it shows how rarely this actually happens when the sting operation leads to someone here calling out the posting. It's like how hitmen listings on the dark web are purportedly all sting operations as well.

Homeland security is setting up shop here for the new law change after Dec 1. I'd say this is. Probably just a little warm up session for them. Not looking good for all the people saying the Dec law won't change anything.

They're here and practicing for the main event.

Just out of curiosity if this goes on like this, most of NC mongers will be seen in SC.

Florence will be safe bet l.

It will add few hrs of drive but save from all this.

For reference, Republicans in VA introduced HB51 to try their own version of increasing penalties for prostitution (although much tamer than ours). So far that bill has failed in committee. The main difference is that their republicans aren't quite as conservative and enough align with the democrats on social morality / personal freedom issues. Either of those states are much safer right now. I had a dream with an amazing provider in Richmond a couple of years ago. I've heard some rumblings that conservatives in SC intend to introduce a similar bill to ours next year, so that state's scene may be short lived.

These new laws don't worry me too much. The intent has to be proven you are soliciting a prostitute.

It's guys picking up streetwalkers and the adult bookstores who need to be the most worried. 'I almost never pick up a streetwalker.

Because in truth that is probably who this law is being targeted at.
