I think people are just in a panic over this right now, honestly, but we can all have different opinions. I don't think spreading false information helps either, everything from both sides here is just speculation. The actual numbers reported to the WHO are still extremely low in Thailand. Those are the facts that we have.

Pattaya is devoid of Chinese tourists right now so I'm happy about that and going to enjoy my trip. Getting away from seeing all the people here panic buying toilet paper and bottled water will be nice as well. If I get sick, I'll post up while I'm in quarantine and you guys can say you told me so, but again, at the moment, I have no concerns about heading there.

Nothing like going to Thailand (or anywhere else for that matter) and being stuck in quarantine for weeks. Personally, I'd avoid travel anywhere for the time being, unless it's absolutely necessary.

Imagine booking your flight somewhere for an event, only to find out event is canceled and plane ticket cannot be canceled without a huge fee. Imagine booking a cruise thinking you can go back to work the following week, only to be stuck in quarantine for 2 or 3 weeks longer than your vacation days allow.

I don't know how you would obtain a test though since you have to show symptoms before being able to be tested. Also, it's reportedly difficult to get a test even if you have symptoms (at least on the mainland, but not sure about here). You also need health insurance that specifically covers covid 19 to enter Thailand. They are taking these measures as new cases spiked by 60 on Thursday, the most in a day so far there.

Just going to start pushing my flights over and over until things settle and get cleared up. My friends who live in Thailand expect a full lock down soon. Just a lot of confusion going on. Bars, massage parlors, etc are closed, but a lot of other places are closing down too since they have no idea how to enforce the social distancing piece. No one in the world knows how to deal with this situation since we have never gone through anything like this. Just have to wait it out and let things settle.
