Go back and look at: [post=1195755][b]"Two Shannon’s with Love & Squalor"[/b][/post]. What looks like a wall full of graffiti is actually some type of wallboard or flooring material that has been placed against a cinder block wall.
These two girls are actually living in a abandon industrial garage. They don’t live in a room in a garage. They live in the actual garage. They have sectioned off part of a large garage floor, placed two mattresses on the floor, added a couple of chairs, a night stand and moved in. The two girls share one mattress and their roommate, a middle age black guy uses the other. There are no windows. The only light comes from two large sky lights. The only way in or out is though a large garage door which can only be locked or opened from the inside. Outside of the living area is spewed with junk, trash and filth.
I have heard of people who lived in abandon buildings. I assumed that they lived in rooms in abandon homes or houses. They even have a slang name, “Abandos.” This was not the first time that I visited with two girls at their “Abando.” Remember Anna and Michelle, [post=718727][b]“One nutty kind of a day (continues some more).”[/b][/post] Anna and Michelle lived in a room above the abandon garage. The two Shannons live on the garage floor.
On my way out their guardian/roommate was coming in. A gruff homeless type, we passed, nodded, but didn’t speak. The girls have some type of weird arrangement with him. I don’t think it has to do with sex or drugs. The girls wanted to keep secret the fact that they had recently come into some funds and were on their way to make purchases. They left with me and went happily on their way.
I take this hobby very serious. Seeing the seedy side gives a different perspective. IMHO, I must be crazy.

Your description of where these ladies live is very sad. As I was reading your post, I was feeling kind of guilty for not being able to do something to help ladies that are stuck in "the life". I'm totally aware of the fact that these ladies are willing to do whatever it takes to make their "score", I just never thought about where they live or how they live. I don't think any of us Mongers think about stuff like that. It's down right depressing and now I have a different view what kind of situation these ladies are in, I feel bad for them.
By the way, I didn't write my last post. I was spending some time with one of the ladies from Broadway and she was on my laptop looking at this site, and she wanted to post a comment about the two shannons. She actually knows the little shannon.
I'm kind of at a loss for words about how these street ladies have to live. To be totally honest, I don't think I'll be feeling the same way about "mongering" again. Great post Cookie.

(It was a apartment that my brother owned and I told him that she needed help) She was there 2 weeks before she sold the tv and was trying to rent the place. When I went to ask her she was being arrested on driving a stolen car, driving without a license and some kind if drug charges. She had fallen down in to drugs even more. You can try to help but if they don't want help it will not work.

Different flavor, different size and different walk of life. Criticizing don't help. They are human with feelings and should be respect. There is a song that spot on depicts some of the hardships of the life. I was listening to it not to long ago while reading posters bragging about their conquests. It made me feel like shit.

I for one am glad Amillia is doing her thing, “Upscale.” I hope she never has to experience living in an “Abando.” I wouldn’t wish that on anyone. However; there are worst things. It’s all about perspective. It might be nice to be “High,” all the time. It might be nice never to have to face the world of responsibilities. Having no bills, no one relying on you and no cares beyond you next fix may not be all that bad. I am not here to judge.
Could any of you live like them and still manage to laugh?
