I can tell you that there are two major brand groups of hotels who are providing our uncle names of people who are checking in. Their official stance is that it's a "Rogue hotel owner" providing the information, but, they're providing that information back through the reservation systems (PNR based) to the NEXUS center. Apparently, our uncle is only interested in certain hotels in certain locations for right now, but, they have the ability to access any hotel reservations that were booked through a OTA, airline, travel agency, or third party. There is one hotel who generates a list of guests every night and faxes them over to the Newport PD, but, I think that's more for drugs and active warrants than anything else.
