After about 20 minutes had passed and LEO had not arrived I must admit I relaxed a lot more, especially when I asked him to call them back to see what's taking them so long and he said he can't because his phone is dead. He made the suggestion that I could pay a cancellation fee and make the whole thing go away. I declined. After about another half hour of me winding him up a little bit he said he was going to get Paige to come and talk to me. She came down to the parking lot looking nothing like the pictures in her post, she was black, but still quite cute. I tried to politely explain that I will only give the donation to her directly in the room and not to anyone else before we're there. She said that's not her procedure. I told her that's fine, that is your right to have any procedure you want and as I told your handler / friend I'm not prepared to hand over the money until we're in the room. She asked for a cancellation fee (half of donation) which again I politely refused. Both her and her handler waked away back inside.

I genuinely believe that if I'd handed the cash over in the first place the guy would have run off. Especially as the girl in the post is different to the one that tried to get the cancellation fee.

Finally, she gave up and sent me some profanity filled texts about how dare excuse her scamming. I laughed hard and then blocked the number.

Called up my regular at the time and she no problem, inviting me up, where it only took literally two minutes to verify the card had said donation on it.

In my opinion, scams only work if the guy is not thinking with his big head. You have to be willing to trust your gut instincts and get the hell out of a bad situation.

It seems like they're still trying to run a similar scam. Still nervously dipping my toe into the hobby here, the legal aspect is very different to back home.

Here's another lesson learned about why you should never pay up front:
